Southern west door from the previous room then.

Yeah, try the other door.

(Though, I am curious, did you roll for the rats before we entered the room? And was the holes in the room how they got in and out with the doors closed?)

I am adding small amounts of flavor text to keep from getting bored. Look grateful.
Room 8
The southern door on the West wall opens to a passage heading due West. Gorman cannot see the end of it.

What do you even do with that?

After sixty feet, you come across a door on the left. The corridor continues straight ahead.

Room 9
This room is rectangular, 10 feet wide by 20 feet long. It appears to be empty. There are two exits, one on the opposite wall (South) and one on the left (East).

Backtrack to the last room and try the South door. We should find whatever ate the orcs, and kill it. I am going to assume it didn't travel far, so let's try the adjacent areas first.

Presumably that was the rats.

Half a vote for continuing along the passage going west in room 8.

The Giant Rats ate the orc carcasses.

Room 9
The passage ends at the entrance to a chamber, 30 feet square. There are no obvious exits. The room appears to be empty.

Does this generator produce secret doors? If it does, check for them. Otherwise, backtrack to room 9 and go East.

A potential end to the exploration, at last?

The generator does produce secret doors.
Room 9
Gorman steps into the room, training his dwarven eyes on the walls, looking for any of the tell-tale signs of a hidden exit. He is about to start knocking on the walls when the floor seems to fall beneath him. Swiftly, Gorman turns back, but sees the entrance way disappear, and by the sinking feeling in his gut the dwarf knows that the entire room is a gigantic elevator...heading down.

After perhaps twenty feet, the motion stops. A new entrance is visible to the East, the sole exit from the room. Gorman grips his sword tightly, for he knows he is now in...

Literally out of our depth, but the choices are forward or lie down and wait to die.

Dead End
As Gorman steps forward and lets the light from his torch shine on the exit from the chamber, he quickly sees that it is a dead end - a space only ten feet wide and ten feet deep, strewn with filth...and it is not empty. A rubbery, green, bedraggled figure, naked except for its lanky hair scratches at the wall...but turns when it sees the light. It's black lips peel back to reveal miscoloured fangs in receding gums, and a great pink tongue splotched with black emerges to lick at its fangs...and now that Gorman can see it properly, it is much taller than dwarf height...and it looks very, very hungry.

Um...suggest we work together to find the way back to level one, as there are plenty of orcs and goblins there to eat?

By all means attempt talking, but do so with weapons ready, because that thing sounds ready to attack.

Fucking White Box Rules wrote:Monsters can be lured into service if they are of the same basic alignment as the player-character, or they can be Charmed and thus ordered to serve. Note, however, that the term “monster” includes men found in the dungeons, so in this way some high-level characters can be brought into a character’s service, charisma allowing or through a Charm spell. Some reward must be offered to a monster in order to induce it into service (not just sparing its life, for example). The monster will react, with appropriate pluses or minuses, according to the offer, the referee rolling two six-sided dice and adjusting for charisma
Gorman has a -1 modifier due to low Charisma, but can hope for a high roll. What does he offer the troll for its service?
