Boris survives the gauntlet with 2 close shaves (as expected, against the 2 highest-skilled mummies). It wasn't just that his STMAINA is down to 4, but both Zoth-Lar and Lord Sarroth lasted exactly 9 rounds against him.
One more round for either of them and it would have been Game Over!
