An old picture of myself. Like.... 5+ years old. I haven't changed much, my facial hair is like a slowly marching army that I tend to be too lazy about shaving off, or sometimes I invite over.... because apparently girls like my scraggly moustache.
The "ladder theory" website is interesting. I remember reading about it when it used to run under the description about "intellectual whores".
Frank.... well, I guess orange says things about you? Orange is a cool colour, but shit, there's at least 7 hues to pick from and 4 tones.
Broken down those are (and with notation on a combination of both how much clothing of that colour I own and would buy of that colour in the future):
Hues:
Red [y+], [red's awesome, mostly t-shirts, a lacoste polo shirt, and a burgundy sweater]
Yellow [~], [I've got two or three yellow shirts; a polo shirt, a budweiser shirt and that's about it]
Blue[y++], [lots of blue clothing, many shades; no sweaters, but t-shirts, long sleeve shirt, pants]
Purple [~], [don't really have any now, I used to once, a t-shirt, and a very dark purple (nearly black) winter parka]
Green [y++] [I have a lot of green clothing, in all shades; sweaters, pants, t-shirts, one long-sleeve shirts though, and the torso on it is grey, no not really all green]
Orange [~] [it's hard to find good looking orange clothing that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, right now, i've got 1 orange t-shirt; I've never really bought orange for clothing though]
Brown [y] [sweater, and I guess that khakis go here?]
White [y] [mostly as undershirts, have some khaki coloured clothing too; I've got like a ash-white corderoy sweater and pants that are about as pale, but those are exceptions]
Black [y+++] [lots of black, pants, t-shirts, parka, shin-length wool/cashmere overcoat (it's really a blue, but most people can't tell), some of my most worn articles of clothing are black; and for a good long while I used to wear a zip-up black fleece sweater with a collar that went straight up, think like a jacket, but made of polar fleece, and black.]
Grey [y+] [bunch of grey stuff; pants, long sleeve shirts and sweaters though; and socks. About half of my socks are gray]
In writing this, I realize that I sound like a clothes horse, but this is me just mentally making an inventory of my clothing. The last time I bought any clothing was like.... two christmases ago, during boxing week [got two sweaters and a pair of pants]. So, it's been over a year since I went looking for, and then buying, clothing. The last time before that, was the boxing week before that (got two pairs of shoes at a mad discount, and one pair I still use, the other is a bit too big, didn't really get much else, didn't find anything that I liked).

Count, the cat on the couch looks like it's mind-controlling you, man.
You got hit by Dominate.
You got hit by Dominate.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Funny, the fucking things never mind me. even the ones that supposedly "hate" people give me reactions ranging from letting me pet them to not running away the first time they meet me. It's not like I'm exceptionally friendly with them either. If a cat's sitting somewhere, and I want to sit down, I just sit down. They don't hiss, they don't spit, they just realize that I'm not going to put up with them pretending that they can keep me from sitting down if I want to.Heath Robinson wrote:If there's anything that Dwarf Fortress has taught me, it's that nobody owns a cat.Count_Arioch_the_28th wrote:Strange, I don't own a cat. And yet, there it is...
On the other hand, I don't mind lounging in a couch with a cat in my lap and scratching their head while watching a movie, so I don't dislike cats; I just get along with them differently. Also, rabbits are where it's at for friendly animals. They're a bit territorial if they don't have a lot of space to call their own, but they will acknowledge any grooming they recieve (i.e. petting them with the grain of their fur, or scratching them) by trying to groom you back (they lick you almost non-stop, sometimes they'll start trying to groom you if you haven't pet them at all that day).

I have a crazy unshaven beard of a two weeks (yes that goes pretty wild for me. and about probably two months of uncut hair which looks almost mullet afro-ish.) Tomorrow is haircut day.
Virgil beat me to the punch (or was that me beating him to a pulp, hmm...) by posting my daughter's pic on the net. It's probably not common knowledge but he's my brother-in-law not just a friend of mine.
But here's a picture of me with the kiddo.
Edit: Maj, just noticed your picture, absolutely adorable. any recent pictures? I haven't been on the den recently.

Just imagine all of my hair growing exponentially and probably charting of a 6sigma scale and you could probably imagine me currently.

At least at first glance.
:Snark: My dad and my brother-in-law have been trying to tease me for a while with my high school yearbook picture of almost eight years ago that looks very much like a somber Obama in a tie. It sits on our fridge now. It used to be that everytime that anyone came over to our house, and the subject turned towards politics or Obama or me or fuck I don't know the new Britney Spears album -- fvck, if I know how my 55-year-old immigrant father knows more about Britney spears albums than I do -- but they would immediately grin and go to the fridge and tell them stories about how I was the Obama of the familly and how I ran for Class president in my freshman year of high school and lost. :-DNarcissus wrote:

And Talisman: Thank you for that compliment. :-D

Fine......she wins insofar as being the cutest person thus far featured on this thread.
She is not eligible for the "Cutest Denizen" title, however...this appears to be between ubernoob, Mr Sinister and Koumei.
Although I think eeuuugh would have a fair shot at it without his "I will eat your SOUL!" stare.

This is a good idea, but why are some of the pictures unviewable, and why can't I see Koumei's picture at all.
EDIT: Picture of Ramnza and I forthcoming.
Game On,

I think Koumei removed her picture. It was there one day, gone the next for me. Not sure what to tell you about the others.

Actually, I'm still a little paranoid - not so much about you guys, who don't strike me as the troublesome kind (and are mostly in other countries), but because anyone can view this site. Including, for instance, members of 4chan WHO ARE A TERRORIST ORGANISATION THAT BLOW UP VANS! I'd need to get new curtains (and my dog isn't much of a guard).

Face it, a 4channer has already seen it, distributed it and now you're a subsubsubfetish. There are a number of people who have gotten off to a picture of you fully clothed. In seconds.Koumei wrote:Including, for instance, members of 4chan WHO ARE A TERRORIST ORGANISATION THAT BLOW UP VANS! I'd need to get new curtains (and my dog isn't much of a guard).
It's made its way to futaba by now. They mocked you mercilessly for being white and Australian. Then they cried themselves to sleep because there's nobody that likes them and they live lonely, pathetic lives.
It's on freenet. It's lost in a sea of child pornography, bomb making instructions, and political monologuing. Someone has prepared a set of poems and created a page that juxtaposes your image with them.
It is on any number of P2P networks, being used as a weak attempt at trolling people searching for comic book scans.
This is the resonance. This is what it means for you.
Face it. Today will be as bad a day as any other.
