People aren't seriously saying Vampires are all the same thing, are they?

Because a long ass time ago, GURPS put out a book called Vampires. It details Vampire myths that are mostly from European legend but also all around the world, and there's about fifty of them and they're all extremely different, and on top of that it suggests how to vary them to match the more common variations on each myth.

And obviously every book series and movie series has different rules for their Vampires. Does the daywalker hunt the rest? Do swords even work? Why to exist? All different.

Y'all played too much D&D. Real world myths are all over the place, there's is no such thing as a standard monster description outside each particular Monster Manual, because monsters don't fucking well exist to be measured standard.
