Unfortunately, tarkin's right on that one. There an old Sage Ruling / Errata clarifying the design intent as making Heighten nearly worthless. Reviewing my hard drive, I find that I've had houserules on it since at least August of 2004.

Of course, I have no desire to see what exactly caused there to be a 22 page flamefest on the subject

I honestly don't get why the mods on the wizard boards aren't much stricter in handing out bannings. Reregistering is free and laying down some draconic rules would quell the flow of retarded arguments like the one Francius is participating in.

According to the Jerusalem Weekly News the whole lot were drunks, the leader included. He freely admittted it, well indirectly.
