So it seems like a really bad plan for those people to unambiguously break laws by posting photos of underage girls or attempting to extort money from people. Because those are not legal gray areas and it's really hard to hide in the law's lint trap.

No one does revenge porn to get off. They do it to hurt women that they don't like. And other guys look at it to cheer them on about hurting women. That's the whole point. To cause real emotional damage to real women. It's understandable when you get that these guys are angry passive-aggressive misogynists who are too chickenshit to physically attack their ex-girlfriends due to fear of arrest or possibly being beaten up instead.

Revenge porn as a concept is disgusting to me in a very visceral manner and incites a real desire to do violence to the people responsible, but I do understand their motivations. They're cowards who want to emotionally torture women. That's it.

Dude, no one is confused about the people who put up the porn, the people you wrote two paragraphs about. People are confused about the people who look at it, the people you wrote one sentence about.

And that part is not very well thought out. Are you really telling me that people google porn sites in order to write comments about how some other guy was in the right to hurt some woman? That seems, beyond unlikely. I really don't see why they wouldn't just go to a misogynist forum to do that.

I was going to stay out of this. But yes: There are revenge porn sites which do that. There are misogynist forums and sites which delight in this. I direct your attention to this blog, Man Boobz, in which a man, who has earned his place in Heaven through his patience and self-sacrifice in collating this shit, reports and mocks misogyny. The linked article is about a revenge porn site.

That actually sounds plausible. Not as in "this guy totally did it," but as in "that is a thing you could probably do in basically the manner described if you really wanted to."

Slap your phone down next to your speakers and give yourself a ring or text. If your speakers are anything like mine, they did something super obnoxious. You get to notice the interference with your puny human ears because the device in question is a speaker, but the change was caused by the phone fucking with the electronics inside the speaker. Now, I don't actually know if the activity caused in the speaker by the phone is strong enough that you would be able to "feel" it by sticking your finger inside the speakers. But I do know that if you could feel it by sticking your finger inside the electronics, then you'd almost certainly be able to feel it by sticking the electronics inside your finger. And, of course, because nothing is 100% efficient you'll also get heat and motion and so on that you might feel.
