Sorry about that, was upset with some personal drama when I said that. I know that's not a proper excuse, but I tend to be more irritable when I'm dealing with other stuff.

I think it's funny that the priveleged male agenda arguments should come up in a thread about a game publisher whose CEO is a woman.

So I was just told that depending on how the dice gods like you the probability of rolling a twenty on the die could be as high as 5 in 20. I chose not to press the point as I was sure it was a joke.

A lot of people either just plain don't understand probability, or at least think that because it's not always accurate or predictable, that it's useless. I have a cousin who thinks it's useless because it isn't always accurate.

Privilege exists either way. One CEO does not abate it. Fifty CEOs wouldn't. Nor a majority of CEOs. But it would be a step in the right direction. If it were possible, even normal, for the majority to shift between genders, then perhaps society would stop pigeonholing the sexes.

That refers to stereotyping, not the base expectations attached to gender. Currently, the same behavior - same words, expressions, stance - given to a male actor will be viewed positively and negatively if given to a female actor. That's the bigger issue at hand with regards to privilege. If managerial actions are seen as positive with a man and negative with a woman, the man is going to be promoted and the woman is not - even though their behavior is identical.

A issue that has been dealt with repeatedly, and didn't affect my generation until this last decade was stereotyping: That a male person needed, should earn more because they are male; and a female didn't need to earn more because they should spend time outside of work. Of course, this is coming back... see class action against Walmart.

There are very few people for whom, "stupid bitch," is a commonly-ascribed insult. On this board, it seems you are one of them. Rude and mean though it is, it's frequency should probably cause at least some minor self-reflection. Such consideration might even be helpful or even transformative.

Alternatively, everyone's varying degrees of annoyance with you arises naturally from their own deficiency. That's also a possibility. It is also remote.

"I will seriously consider any change that reduces the power of spellcasters" is a standby for one of them.

So long as you don't focus too much on your disagreements, you avoid the more lengthy derailings (both IRL and online) and can still get some value out of it.
