the problem of 3D is actually not only that it's mostly blurred, but that it can't do what 2D can.

What can 2D do that 3D can't?

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

Makes sense. I do prefer 2D to 3D.

As do i, actually . .
But the new Trek is, basically, a must see for most Nerds worth their Funk, and it's only shown in 2D twice a week over here . . and i mean 2 showings, not 2 days . .

The biggest problem with 3D, IMHO, is framing issues. In 2D, as something comes toward the camera, the edges fall off the screen, and that's fine. In 3D, the edges dissolve, which is super-weird.

Being the proud owner of a 3DS, I must say that 3D can work just fine giving depth to an image instead of making it rush towards the screen like an angry bull attached to a jet engine.

i actually tried out one of these head mounted display devices . . paid 250€ for trying it out basically, as it cost me 1000€ to procure and then i only got back 850 from the maker because it was used by then and had to pay huge shipment fees . .
I want to like 3D, really, i do, but right now, it's simply sub par and any money going into that would have made a 2D movie BETTER by going into buying better writers, better Actors, better Artists and the such.
Same as with the big names in IP.
Seriously. The new Star Trek Movies?
In 2D without the big cost of that IP could have been groudbreakingly good for the start of a completely new IP, if the money had been invested otherwise!

I'm basically of the opinion that a movie in 3D damn well better be doing gimmicky stuff like having shit fly at you from the screen because as an artist, I have absolutely no need to pay $3-5 dollars more for just added depth. My eyes do that for me just fine.

Ooh! That'd be fun! We need more crazy people here, especially since the Count seems to stormed off in a huff...

And c'mon... how awesome would it be to have someone threatening to "[EDITED] punt" us?

We also need a new "super angry chick," Crissa is long gone.

Crissa wasn't any fun. The only anger she displayed revolved around feminism. In some [rare] cases, it was warranted. Most of the time, it was just... :wtf:.

You mean like the time she argued with a transgendered person about whether the term "trap" was offensive or not? Yeah, good times....

This has gotten me to thinking... where do the crazies on the Den go after they leave? Do they move on to another board? Do they run away, join the Cosmic Carnival, get into scrapes, and then get stabbed in a seedy bar somewhere between Ixlus IV and Ontario? Or do they cease to exist once they stop posting here, gone forever, like they were never here at all?

Truly, the grand mystery of life.

They cling to the edges, lurking in the shadows as wraiths of their former selves.

Then they come back and harass us some more.

Well, Roy seemingly decided to call himself Mr. GC and became an ego singularity.

Can't speak for Psychic Robot...

There actually haven't been that many people who got banned or what-have-you.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

--The horror of Mario

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

That just shows how much the Den is a lovable, forgiving place that accepts people regardless of whom they are or what they say.

I can't believe I kept a straight face while typing that...
