I make new regret every time I go to the bathroom. My own one-year kid won't kiss me because of my looks and I don't talk about money. So get the fuck off my lawn.

Whoo someone else from New Jersey!
I think that's scary enough to the children of the world.

I'm surprised how young some of you are (like chamomile and name_here). I thought most of the "TGD core cast" (i.e., the people who joined before me and have significant post counts) would all be in their late 20's to mid 30's about now, with a few geezers here and there at the far end. But nope, turns out some of you started posting here while you were practically in diapers.

If there is anything that I have learned over the past year, it's that internet newbs act like internet newbs regardless of their real-life age. Of all of the people that I initially pegged as being young and immature because of their posting style,
all of them turned out to be over the age of 35. Most were over 45, and
every single one of them was new to the world of posting to forums on the internet. It was the youngest people who acted with the most maturity, the best spelling and grammar, and had the most relevant things to say.
It was seriously as though people's maturity counters were reset upon opening the door to the internet world, and grandmothers went back in time to the point of being middle schoolers.

I realized I'm getting socially older when I consciously realized I don't want to make the effort to learn new technology that I don't have to learn.

Hm. So since most people aged 13+ have been around the internet for at least a year or two but the internet's widening reach is bringing in a lot more 40+ people who weren't online in the 90s, so if someone is acting how we're used to seeing 13-year olds act, they're probably way older.

I fucking cringe at the things I used to get riled up about. For what it counts, I'm 23 now and started posting here when I was ~18. There is a quote to the effect that life is just one long period of thinking "Holy shit I was a dumbass five years ago" over and over again.

I think it should be noted that even IRL most harassment is a top down affair. Yes, violent crime is a young man's game, but the most common scenario is someone in their 20s to 40s victimizing someone who is 12 to 19. Now, obviously some combination of desperation and opportunity/power disparity are the prime motivators, but I wouldn't discount the simple fact that people tend to default to a hostile attitude towards teenagers and many trip all over themselves if they perceive a chance to put young kids in their place. Oftentimes such responses are sadly disproportionate.
TLDR version: doing time as a paramedic rather quickly left me with more respect for your average kid than your average adult.

Windows 8 is a bad example, because it was not designed to be usable by desktop users with desktop peripherals. If you find Windows 8 a puzzling and frustrating experience, it's because you're supposed to be holding your monitor in your hands and poking it with your thumbs. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself at a computer trying to accomplish tasks using input devices other than your thumbs, windows 8 has nothing to offer you except its profound apologies.

I'll be 34 in less than a week. I've discovered that I don't care about getting older, and I find birthdays to be a wonderful excuse to break the routine and eat way too many tacos (or whatever it is I choose to have for my birthday. It's usually tacos) and pieces of cake.

For some reason, I always pictured PR as being in his early 20s. I never dealt with Elennsar here, but he posted at BG quite a bit just before he came here. I pegged him as being about my age for literally no reason (I probably subconsciously assume everyone is my age until proven otherwise).
If I had to guess, Shad is about 45, give or take a few years, but he could reasonably be several years younger than me too. I assume he started gaming when The One True Edition was currently being published, but I supposed it's possible he started playing with earlier editions until The One True Edition was revealed to him.

I think most of the posters here that I recognize from other boards are in this age bracket.

Ugh. I remember comparing THAC0 to the oldschool lookup tables from before, and thought that THAC0 was a gift from God, or something. Now I'm stupid for different reasons.

Sigged!
As for me...
Over ninety? No, but I have the arthritic feet of a ninety year old.
Filled with regret? Always.
Yell at my check? I don't get a check, so I usually yell over my lack of one.
Scare children? What better joy is there in life?

I turned 29 a month and a half ago. They say you're only as old as you feel, which is unfortunate, because I feel like I'm in my nineties. If the breakdown in my early twenties was a mid-life crisis, this could be a problem.
I don't yell at my diminishing pay, I just accept that the new government is going to do everything it can to reduce it or swipe it away to give to mining billionaires.
I don't really like that kids have to go around existing, but I tolerate this and pretty much ignore them other than chatting with my youngest sister and helping the kids where I work. I don't really have horror stories and haven't even told my sister that "Actually, the job you'll have when you grow up is whatever you can get". She has decided she is going to be a cake decorator (or some other variety of creative decorator), and she'll probably actually succeed at that just to spite us older folk who wanted to be space ninjas.

In that respect I'm still a child: I'm constantly having sweets.

Favorite snacks: I'm eating sunflower seeds RIGHT NOW.
Frito-Lay brand, original flavor.
And this salt came from the joyful tears angels shed every time a new soul's admitted to heaven, and they were roasted in the warmth of God's smile.
THIS IS A REALLY FUCKING GOOD BAG OF SUNFLOWER SEEDS.

Popcorn, barbeque peanuts, and trail mix have been my main snacks lately. I pick up a pack of Cajun Jazz Mix whenever I go to Walmart though; it has praline peanuts, sesame sticks, and a few other things I like.
In other news, the power bar I use with my desktop computer has apparently died. It randomly stopped working for about an hour a few days ago. Today, it decided to give out immediately after I started playing League of Legends and hasn't returned after over five hours. I'm just glad I was playing against bots so my teammates weren't screwed over as badly as they could have been.
I could plug my desktop and monitor directly into a wall socket, but that would require rearranging my room to the highly inconvenient way it was structured two years ago. I'll probably just buy another power bar tomorrow.

My seven-year-old daughter just dropped some knowledge about Aristotle's philosophy of the five elements. My mind went all sorts of blown.

I think my daughter can now officially be called a badass.

Works for the Japanese.
I'm in my twenties, not filled with regret or bitterness but apathy, am out of a job and children love me. I scare adults, though.

Today was fucking cold*. Despite what the weather report said (that temperatures rose to 33 degrees F and it snowed), I spent my day driving across the city and saw neither snow, nor clouds, nor anything beginning to approach ice considering thawing - not even a little.
At one of the stores we went to, it was utterly bizarre to go inside the walk-in fridge and have it be warmer than it was outside.
*I'm a wuss and I don't care.
