Bard Class Revision

Not sure of your proposals, Boolean. I'm leaning more towards some kind of Bard template (much like Barbarian would be one for warriors or 'tribal culture') that affects how spells are cast yet not what is accomplished.

So I suppose ExTreme Multitasker would work, to some extent. For a while.

If one wants a non-caster Bard, it would simply be another class with ranks of Perform. Because, frankly, that's really what an Earth Bard is.

I'm awar eof, and nto really opposed to, the bard as template idea. I've long thought Paladin should work the same way -- in fact, I'll dig out my paladin feats tonight and put them up.

I still think the concept *can* support a class. And I don't know where you're going on about noncasting, as my bard is casting-driven.

Not all Bards should be required to cast.
Warrior-Bards, either tribal (skald) or not, would sing outside of battle or pre-battle, but rely on taunts and jibes while swishing and flinging.

A really skilled bard should be able to convince an enemy to trade her superior equipment for the bard's inferior equipment in the middle of combat.

Oh I don't know, it only takes Dethklok about 6-20 seconds to summon giant trolls, create multiple tornadoes and blacken the skies, and depress hippies so much that they rip out their own eyes.

The 19 rank ability of the feat on the first page was inspired by Dethklok.

Non-casting bard = marshal (they even shout and dispel silence). Damn, I need to try to make its last ... 8 levels ...

Marshal + Bard = something better.

Why do we even have the Marshal? It does everything the Bard should have been capable of.

WTF? The marshal has 12 levels. If a character's level 12 or less, pick it and write "bard" on your sheet. Done.

Or, make a gestalt Marshal/Bard and call it the Normal Bard.
Although maybe with more of an average between HD (d8?), keeping SP and saves of Bard.
