Inspirational Fantasy Artwork

I don't know if it counts as inspirational fantasy artwork, but I often look out for stunning scenery to adapt. I gather scenery photos as I stumble across them. Preferably Community Commons licensed stuff.
Like I saw a pretty picture on wikipedia- don't recall how I stumbled upon it,

So as a demonstration for this post I just googled to find a decent monk in a robe, smack him in there, put a little haze on top to make a proper Gloom scene.
I follow a similar pattern when hunting art. I have a bit saved on hard drives, but usually don't have many particular galleries that I go to specifically. I've downloaded a fair bit from Avoracio's fun photobucket he's been linking. Sadly this means most of my stuff is from a scattering of locations.
I did find this page for Kekai Kotaki which I tracked down when someone posted a humorous captioning of
Maybe I can find some other artist gallery links another time. I may have saved some on another less-used computer but there don't appear to be more on this lappy.

www.cghub.com
Protip: just find an artist whose work you like, (such as my mentor Thomas Scholes or the phenominal Wes Burt, Jason Chan, Min Yum... too many of my idols to name really,) and browse their favorite images. Cuts out a lot of the flotsam and gratuitous boob-loving cghub users tend to overvalue, leading to a clutter of stonkin' TITS in the front page cluster. This way, it's like having a curator.

Those are search links rather than direct links to the images. If other images become more popular, those links will point to different things.
To get the permanent link, click the title of the work.
Permanent links below:
Escargot
Fun with animated objects? (Gingerbread men).
The reason the mansion was cheap.
Zombie dinosaur!

Anything that has Bebop and Rocksteady, or any of the Turtles or Foot Clan, becomes totally awesome.RobbyPants wrote:Wereboar Mercenary? You mean Bebop?
Now you just need to find a matching wererhino.

http://Daverapoza.com seems like your one-stop destination for such things. Also some awesome Power Ranger, He-Man, Thundercats and whathaveyous.Darth Rabbitt wrote:Anything that has Bebop and Rocksteady, or any of the Turtles or Foot Clan, becomes totally awesome.RobbyPants wrote:Wereboar Mercenary? The first Rocksteady is my only linked image not by Rapoza. Tis done by Jason Heuser who has his own gallery full of awesome pics that you may have seen here and there. http://sharpwriter.deviantart.com/gallery/
Rocksteady
[edit]
Heh, considering it is by Jason Heuser and he has BEBOP written on his armor plate, I find that to be a reasonable conclusion. =-DK wrote:Isn't that Bebop from TMNT?

Re: Bebop
So it is. I didn't recognize the pic at first, given that it was presented in a context where I was more focused on something else.

Probably a bit less "fantastic" than the average here, but I'm a sucker for alternate history/paralel worlds, and the gates of Pixiv Fantasia are open already. I like to think these are Imperial War Wizards or something arriving for some warship duty.
EDIT: Fixed the link. Hot-linking from a members-only site like Pixiv wasn't a smart movie.
EDIT PS: I saw other images from this set and the things they carry are rifles, not swords. A bit less cool than I thought. Also, the girl has a japanese schoolgirl skirt as part of her uniform and this tends to make me stop liking things. At least on this pic the skirt isn't visible.

Your image doesn't work for me, nockermensch.
Shanoa in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia was pretty cool. I wonder if there's an RPG that would let me play something like that.
