Timeship laid bare the truth that most games pussyfoot around: the only way to Win a simulation-based game is to so fully embrace its hackneyed conceits (e.g. bring weapons to the gaming table) that you discover previously unknown capabilities within yourself. In this case, time travel.

Normality taught me that horror gaming, when done correctly, isn't about evocative descriptions dripping with purple prose, exploiting jump scares, or even making players uncomfortable via transgressive subjects. It is instead systematically inflicting a dissociative state via the expedients of coercive programming and NMDA receptor antagonists.

D+D introduced me to gaming.

Starwars D6 taught me there were other systems at all.

WoD taught me that the less hardcoded rules are the more likely I am to hear 'no' when I try to do anything other than what the GM/storyteller/etc thinks I should do.

Starwars SAGA taught me that there were systems that were so boring that I do not want to run them.
The first rule of Fatclub. Don't Talk about Fatclub..
If you want a game modded right you have to mod it yourself.
