Megamam Battle Network is expicitly an alternate continuity.
Megaman Battle Network and the Classic series are both set in 200X, this puts the earliest they could start at 2000 and the latest at 2009.
Battle Network 6, however, is set in 20XX, making it at least 2010.
Assuming that game time advances at a similar pace to the release schedule, this would mean that Battle Network 1 takes place in 2006 and 6 in 2010.
Approximating from Classic Mega Man's release schedule and the transition to 20XX, Classic MM also took place in 2006 and MM4 took place in 2010.
But since they obviously aren't taking place at the same time, they have to be an alternate reality.
However, it is clear that a digital afterlife of sorts does exist in the original timeline, (Classic/X/Zero/ZX/Legends) in the form of Cyberspace from the Zero series, where Cyber Elves live, among other things.
Cyberspace does behave more like a plane than a computer network, and physically transitioning there is possible. Also, chnages made to cyberspace can alter the real world, which is really strange.
Tamers, though, is a different timeline from Digimon Adventure. Tamers, for example, doesn't have Digidestined and works on similar but slightly different mechanics that are more similar to the games.
Video game and cartoon stuff that makes way too much sense!

Um... Legends is also a separate, alternate continuity. It has no relation to the Mega Man Classicverse.hyzmarca wrote:However, it is clear that a digital afterlife of sorts does exist in the original timeline, (Classic/X/Zero/ZX/Legends)...
I have a serious theory on this, actually.Tamers, though, is a different timeline from Digimon Adventure. Tamers, for example, doesn't have Digidestined and works on similar but slightly different mechanics that are more similar to the games.
'Kay, so in Tamers it is stated that a bunch of computer geeks in the eighties created the Digital World and Digimon. This is retarded beyond belief, which is a shame, because Tamers is actually quite good. (Fuck you, Darth. I don't care what you say, Tamers rocked.)
Now, in Adventure, Qinglongmon, along with the other Four Holy Beasts, are basically the gods/guardians of the Digital World. In Tamers, the Four Holy Beasts are also the gods of the Digital World, to the point that one of them, Zhuqiaomon, is actually called capital "G" kami-sama.
My theory is that the Four Holy Beasts are multiversal singularities, and that they are the Gods of every Digimon universe (Adventure, Tamers, Frontier, Savers, and Xros* Wars), and they are responsible for the creation and maintaining of each universe.
Now, the way that the Wild Bunch figures into this is that they did not create the Digital World outright, but instead discovered it in it's primordial state, and they proceeded to study this strange alternate world, even influencing some aspects of it (such as creating the D-Arc, and the link it has to Digimon).
*Xros is pronounced as cross, since combining Digimon into stronger gestalt forms is the central gimmick of the series.
Is this wretched demi-bee

No! It's Eric, the half a bee

Legends is so far in the future with so much blank history on its timeline that it can be a future for any MM continuity, but I'm pretty sure that it was meant to be the future of Classic and X when it was originally produced.Shrapnel wrote:Um... By the time of ZX the only real difference between humans and reploids is how they're born, so it is a step in the direction towards Carbons and the immortal humans of Legends,
