Quick correction to Otakusensei's excellent list: the availability of wired 2 got errataed down to the point you could get it at chargen without restricted gear. That's a factoid which is not at all obvious because it relies on which printing of the book you're looking at.

I'm making a new facemage (upgrading from faceadept because the previous facemage ragequit) and I was musing over Traditions. CHA-tradition is a given, but I was debating mentally over a summoning or possession tradition...

Both have their pros and cons. Just make sure you get the spirit with the Influence power (I think it's man, but I'm not sure).
Other than that, I'd say it should be more of a flavor choice.

Possession spirits have a stronger lower range - even 4- force possession spirits are useful. But, you'll need to invest a bit into Logic and Arcana to prepare vessels, or have a good trustworthy NPC to do it for you. Possession can also produce silly results on augmented combat trolls.

Manifestation traditions are easier to use, are stronger in the upper tiers, and don't require vessels to use.
