I got like 30 minutes in and i couldn't handle it. They just mill about and RP some characters.
i watched the 1st one, then next i saw the one where Mearls was MC Rapping dwarf fucker and could care less. it proved to me that Mearls does not understand D&D nor how any but the lowest pathetic player would play. as DM I would have kicked Mearls from the game within the first 10 minutes for just being a childish fucking moron. He would probably have loved the 3.x game i had to sit in on for a missing player where one of the other players took pubic hair from a slain monster and turned it into a bracelet and necklace to wear like that shitty movie that had Natalie Portman in a chastity belt. and this happened BEFORE that movie.

anything RPG related that Mearls is involved in will not succeed at all and he just wants to make the National Lampoon most stupid type shit (and he has no class like Chevy Chase et all does) or Van Wilders type shit

They were essentially useless, but yes. There was an arbitrary list of monster "classes", and they gave you lists of how many hit points they were supposed to have, and what their attack and defense numbers were supposed to be at each level. But since that game was about 95% concerned with rider effects, telling us what the to-hit bonus of their basic attack was didn't amount to much.
About all the 4E guidelines did was create nonsensical cookie cutter monsters, like gelatinous cubes that could dodge reflex-based attacks better than orcs.

4e Cubes would've been better statted as a level 3 Solo, worse defences and more hit points. Also, not needing "friends" to make the encounter "work". You just have to picture the Ref defences also include big soft things absorbing your bolt of foo to no ill effect.

Hell, the Ochre Jelly next to it could've been a level 1 Solo that split into a couple level 3 Brutes when bloodied, which in turn split into a couple level 5 Minions when bloodied. They never really played with the potential of what they had, monsters, classes, powers, feats, items, rituals; they're all pretty bland in 4e.
