Leaving for Texas tomorrow, so we can take a break here and pick up when I get back, for anyone that wants to continue.

The hell is in Texas that's so important?! YOU HAVE GREATER OBLIGATIONS, MAN!

Ah, well. Have a good trip.

Enjoy your break :D.

Also, we should totally poke the evil sword. Because what's the worst that can happen when we create a Dwarf-Wight for our next adventurer to find!

(Not a vote for poking the sword. Probably a bad plan :D).

Enjoy things that are stereotypically Texan.

Also, yeah, not big on poking the sword.

We should definitely poke the sword. Swords that outright eat you are probably quite rare, and we're low level and need the advantage. Worst comes to worst, we leave the dungeon and find someone who can remove curse.

Okay, I'm back. Is Gorman drawing the sword or going somewhere or what?

SWORD, SWORD, SWORD-SWORD

JAEGER BOMBS

With a muttered prayer to the Unnameable Ones, Gorman draws the sword from its cobwebbed sheath - and the blade slides out easily, the steel gleaming as though new, the runes bright and crisp. Dwarf work, or Gorman's mother was a goblin. The blade blazes silently along its whole length, a cold light that causes the shadows to flee. Silently, Gorman reads the runes inscribed on the blade...

TROLLSLAYER.

"Fancy gut-sticker," Urlik says, squinting at the light. "What's it say?"

Ooooh... awkward. WB AncientH :).

Half a vote to give a noncommittal answer.

Huh, this sword used to belong to a troll who was a slayer.

... Would Urlik believe that it reads "KILROY WAS HERE?"

Actually, given that we've just killed (re-killed?) the sword's previous owner, do we have to dissemble about it?

"Looks like that undead monster really hated trolls".

"Hurr," Urlik mumbles, scratching his chin. "Makes sense. Where to next?"

Erm um... what are our options again? Is purple a choice?

Unexplored areas include:

- Room 13 East, West, and South exits
- Room 5 (pit trap)
- North corridor from room 1 (strong smell of gas)
- South corridor from room 9
- North corridor past trap door in corridor accessed by the western door in Room 2
- Northeast corridor leading from room 4

...really need to update the map.

Return to Room 13
New sword in hand, Gorman and Urlik return to the empty bier where the stinking remains of the wight lay...and turn to the east. There is no door, only an open passageway to...

Room 14
The pale light of Trollslayer showes this chamber is rectangular, 20 feet wide and 30 feet long. There are no visible exits. Much of the room is filled with cobwebs, but it looks like there is something solid in the middle of the room - possibly an urn or cocoon.

STAB THE COCOON

Set the cobwebs on fire and retreat.

Yeah, torch the webs for now, but once the room's stopped burning stab what remains of the cocoon.

The dry, sticky cobwebs catch easily, and Urlik backs away from the rapid leap of flames. Black bodies, the size of Gorman's hand, fall from the ceiling, curling upon themselves. Dwarf and troll watch for several minutes, until the entire nest of webs has burned.

All that remains is a small urn, half the size of those you have seen up to now, covered in soot. The opening at the top is in the shape of a stylized spider.

Can you link our inventory again? I can never remember what page it's on.

I feel like we should try to cover the opening and gently turn the urn on it's side, so we can peer into it from a greater distance.

First post on first page always has a link to current character, ut so far: Gorman's character sheet.

You already did that one in this LP, and it was terrible then.

agreed with Sly's plan though.
