Ah, OK, so Regression to the Mean is about the paradox of not knowing if your first sample is the greater outlier or the second one is. Long series converge, two samples is not a series and doesn't tell you shit so stop assuming you're already converging on anything.

So that is calling the paradox by what people falsely expect, which is how they're usually named, and I was very wrong about it and apologise. Thank you all.
