Necromancers and Evokers

Possible blaster-type that holds up next to things like "Shapeshifter" and "Illusionist" - the Plane Breacher. Create blasts of destructive energy by temporarily shattering the boundary between planes. By the same token, create temporary obstacles/hazard, teleport around, and banish things.

Personally I'm a fan of even more specialized schools like "Vine-o-Mancy", "Ice Conjuring", or "Mirage Casting" - and then a given character gets more than one of them. But admittedly, that's harder to balance.

Yeah, the old "Open A Portal To Plane Of Infinite Pressurized Magma" trick! I think I remember that one from Amber Diceless. And I recall there was a guy in one of Stephen Donaldson's books who used a very tiny mirror that was a portal to a plane of infinite radiance... so there's some utility to that schtick as well.
