Jes's form shudders, "Ugh, before we go wrecking more ass, do we have a way to deal with poison?"
Cuz apparently I gotta break this down for you dense motherfuckers- I'm trans feminine nonbinary. My pronouns are they/them.

You should gain sanity for finding out that the problems of a region are because there are fucking monsters there.
Kai does his best pantomime tiptoe sneak to the corner of the corridor. He whispers to the Pirat:
"So, who are these Sleepers then?"

"Terrible guardian creatures. Once durin' a typhoon, me ship got caught in a maelstrom, and it stirred up all the strange life o' the deeps to the surface for a little while...terrible horrors. One of those as what brought up were these terrible floating eyes...what's in the Hall o' Sleepers ain't those things, but it's some kin to 'em I reckon. But they're quiescent now. May as be we can sneak past."

Berry slips Jesrula a vial of antidote from her vest. "Sleepers, eh? Sounds like a sneaking challenge alright." Berry's whisper trails off.

{Note: Berry has antitoxin - the vial marked "antidote" that was dispensed by the demon-slots was taken by 'Xochitl.}

"Eye things from the deeps? Sounds nasty. There's no other way round? What if they sleep with one eye open?"

As per Cap'n Ratbeard's directions, the group follows the corridor east, then north, and east again, arrive at a T-junction with leading north and south. The mist and the yeasty smell are much thicker here.
{To assist in the mapping: The top of the map is aligned with North, pointing back to Room 00. Your group is at the N-S-E T-junction near the bottom of the map.}

The north is dark and full of mist; Kai cannot see more than a few feet in that direction - but peeking south the corridor is brighter, and he sees 8-10...creatures floating in the middle of the hallway, swaying gently about three feet above the ground.
They look like fleshy orbs some two feet in diameter, their scaly skin covered with fungal growth, lichen crusting around their large central eye and the thin lips on their massive mouths. smooth tentacles like vines hang limply down from their sides, ending in bulbous growths. All of the eyes are closed, and the creatures are silent.

Berry slinks up behind Kai and puts a hand on his arm. She makes a shush sign and points to her familiar, then sends Al down the hallway to reconnoiter.

Archibald recalls lectures talking about Beholders, the Eye Tyrants...their central eyes radiate antimagic and their individual eyes, on the end of stalks, possess other magical rays. They are powerful and deadly foes, and can sometimes be bound to guard important treasures...however, they are also massively xenophobic and do not often congregate, since they see any variation from their own form as an abomination that must be destroyed. It is rare to see a group of beholders or beholderkin unless they are being controlled somehow.
Jes will attempt to recognize them too.

Berry pets Al as it returns to her shoulder, and writes the following on her pad, then shows it to the group: "9 SLEEPING ENTITITIES, CROSS JUNCTION AHEAD 10".
[Sorry guys, I've tried to post that twice and had problems each time.]

"Well, I'm not the best at keeping quiet. The monks used to say they could hear me coming from the other side of the monastery like I was a herd of Ox. I'd hate for us all to be killed by eye monsters because I made a noise. So, Captain, is there another way round?"

The pirat answers in a hoarse whisper. "Nay lad! 'Tis a maze, with many false paths but only one true way through. Don't worry, I've passed this way afore. Just keep low to the ground and silent as ye can, and we'll come out of it alright.Red_Rob wrote:"Well, I'm not the best at keeping quiet. "Well, we should at least go one at a time. That way we'll make less noise, and if they wake up the others can escape. Cadwyn, can you keep Madoc quiet?"
