Hardness I don't particularly care about, but if a door has HP, and the dragon isn't in combat, you need the damage of his breath weapon if he's going to melt down the 2 foot thick steel doors that guard Dwarf Land.
That's just more math fail, this thread must be making you stupid.
Without hardness, the answer is ANY repeatable damage ALWAYS BREAKS ANY DOOR. So not only can the dragon get through those two feet thick steel doors with repeated firebreath - so can a mosquito with its bite.
And while you can make an argument that nothing lasts forever (not even impermanence) the combat damage values are so high and combat rounds are so short that if you wanted to properly simulate stuff like months long prison breaks or Ayesha's feet wearing the stone steps away, objects would need HP in at least the trillions.
Fair point about hardness. But as far as needing combat stats outside of combat, even without hardness you still need that damage value. I didn't express myself well there.
With hardness (which is important, like you say), having that combat stat outside of combat becomes even more important, because there's an excellent chance that the dragonfire might not get through the door at all.
D&D doesn't actually *model* war... or even basic combat, all that well.
You're playing it Wrong then.
I assure you my beer consumption during D&D games is only a small-scale simulation of the beer consumption I saw and partook in during my short and inglorious career in the armed forces.
If your beer consumptions during D&D sesshions fails to accurately model the alsoholishm inherent in fantasy warfare, you should probably reconshider yer whole approach to gaming annat.

"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."
Can someone tell me if Kenny has been right on any level yet?

So, basically, still trying to score a single point, then. I'll come back later to see if anything's changed.

A better question is why in the hell anyone is still posting here sober?
Has there been any movement whatsoever towards common ground or consensus or agreement to disagree or actually changing minds in the past twenty fucking pages of this?
This whole thread has long been an exercise in trolling and insulting people who play other editions.

It's not even trolling. People from both sides who will never agree (rules that don't result in cool things happening are boring and can be stricken) are arguing about subjective things, with my side at least not trying to claim OMG WOW or LOOKIT ALL DEM NUMBAHS
Did anyone set themselves on fire at your work today?
Because my boss totally did that. It was a much needed moment of hilarity in an otherwise crazy stressful shift.
She did this while attempting to relate a "I can't believe a coworker did something so stupid" story. And she's fine, so I don't even have to feel bad about laughing at it. The best part: I'm working an office job. Not even like it was a kitchen or industrial accident - nope just a risk inherent in trying to sneak a cig.

Quick question: what does this word mean? I've googled it and I haven't come up with anything that makes sense.
"And that"
A way of saying "and so on"
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

As much as I really should have everyone in this entire thread on ignore (including myself), you're not.
But thanks.
You're welcome.
Also, in honor of this thread, my next 4e game will have Ultra-Super-Mega Chicken, bards destroying doors through mockery, and Timmy, the new god of the sun.
Yeah, Josh set Plebian on Ignore on page 3 when it was obvious that he wasn't arguing honestly. I did the same a few posts later. I genuinely don't know why people are reading and responding to this trolling 23 pages later.

Same. Sometimes we might have a sketch, but we generally don't use maps for combat.

it's good to know that "not arguing honestly" in Frank's world is the exact same as "doesn't agree with me" because I'd guessed as much but at least he admits it now
edit: does it not make anyone else laugh that Frank Trollman always puts -Username17 at the end of his posts like we can't look to the left and see that it is, indeed, him?
seriously it's like wearing two nametags unironically

It really doesn't, but it's nice to have another example of what he really is talking about being demonstrated so close to his actual critique of your behavior.
Of course, I suspect you are either not a native speaker of English or under 12 years old and actually don't understand what people are saying. The grammar mistakes are a dead giveaway.
Doctor Kenny Loggins wrote:Shadzar, if you think Luke didn't learn anything... wow.
Luke learned nothing that gave him any Jedi powers to help him win the war.
The only thing he learned that helped win the war was that Vader was his father, and stuff about him.
No force power was used by Luke or Anakin to defeat Palpatine.
That was a point of the "light side", and not fully understood by the "dark side".
Play the game, not the rules.
