You did? How?
...By not pointing to something that contradicted me?
I'm not surprised that in the english speaking world, XP outnumbers 98. What am I surprised at, though, you didn't know that the non-english speaking world outnumbered the english speaking world.
Or that you actually didn't point to a single graphics program only available on Mac OS. There is one, though. At least. Yet you failed to point it out. And I know of more than one graphics program available only on a PC.
So, back to the last point. What did I say which was wrong?

Really? You don't say. I think you are wrong. Two of the major centers of world populations use English. Not as their primary language, but they still speak the language.Crissa wrote:I'm not surprised that in the english speaking world, XP outnumbers 98. In India the plethora of lanuages on the sub-continent practically requires everyone in urban areas to speak English as a universal common language. It's not like Europe where there are only a half dozen languages that you can pick up a few and find a common one between two people.
In China all of the technical people tend to know English because they use it for relations with all the international companies that they work for. While it's not all of China, a large percent of the largest nation in the world does help the numbers significantly.

You're still dodging the fact that desktop foot print is meaningless and that you got the currency of the 4870 release date entirely wrong. Simply put, everything you say is overblown hyperbole from someone who believes Macs are better at everything in every circumstance. We wouldn't even be having this thread if you weren't trying to claim Mac is god's gift to computing.
I thought that's what Hindi was for?tzor wrote:In India the plethora of lanuages on the sub-continent practically requires everyone in urban areas to speak English as a universal common language. My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.
NO, hindi is just one of hte northern languages. It's a mistaken assumption that Hindi is the official language of the country. It is one of the primary ones but India is an interesting country in that it has about ~28-30 official languages and English is one of them.Maj wrote:I thought that's what Hindi was for?tzor wrote:In India the plethora of lanuages on the sub-continent practically requires everyone in urban areas to speak English as a universal common language. All govt documents are translated into each of the languages.
In the north, you'll find people conversing hindi more because that is also one of their mother tongues. Granted this isn't in all states in the north but most of the northern languages have large similarities with Hindi.
In the south, while most people know all the languages around because they are all inbred bastards (I guess I'm one too then) but it's more easy to find English in the southern regions than the northern because most of them aren't as hung-up in state pride or whatnot.

Weird. Neither of my friends from southern India made any note of that. In large groups, they always spoke Hindi over English.
Interesting to know.

Oh, we learn hindi in the schools and such. And people will often speak hindi over english when faced with a white populace. It's some of that old FOB-attitude that'll always remain.Maj wrote:Weird. :)
I was born in South INdia and I lived there for half of my life before comign to the states. Most indians often know two-three languages because hindi and english are taught in all schools and the native tongue of the state is also taught. So people are fluent in at least three languages.

I suppose footprint and power usage is meaningless.Draco_Argentum wrote:You're still dodging the fact that desktop foot print is meaningless and that you got the currency of the 4870 release date entirely wrong.
So is weight and startup time.
And the fact that you never bothered to back up your conventional wisdom with actual facts pretty much shows that you know that I was right.
And no, I didn't get the release date incorrect. You've just changed which damn card you're talking about four times. All were released after last January, so I don't see how it matters.
And lastly... I still can't believe you think that out of six billion people, the majority of people on the internet speak english and use XP. That's very racist and white privileged of you... Take China for instance. 'Most chinese techs speak english'? Fuck no. Maybe in Hong Kong... But look at the map each of these provinces speak a different dialect (or several) only a few deal with the western world, and most of them have a middle class that uses computers. One city - Beijing - reported sales of nearly two million new computers in Q2 of this year. That's 9% more than last year. That's just a billion and a half people.
Now look at another continent that has a middle class... Say, South America. Do you think most of them who use computers speak English? No. They don't. The Spanish speaking internet is nearly as large as the english one. There's two Chinese-based internets. And there are more people online from Korea at any one time than any time zone in the US.
First you blame me for being mac-centric... Because I suggested the same program that an Autodesk sales rep would? Because I, like much of the rest of the world live in a very small living space? Because I live near their design headquarters and have had access to their trash? Because I pointed out that very few computers actually used video cards that are only a year old? WTF?

I just checked. I've been talking about the 4870 for the whole two pages I've been in this thread. This isn't even google showing you up, its reading two pages ago.
Come back when you aren't going to blatantly lie. Well that and drop the racist claims, they're your standard draw whenever you can possibly work them into a thread that you are losing.

WTF you asshole, you spent a thread page talking about some 9800GT and 8800GS for some reason.Draco_Argentum wrote:I just checked. I've been talking about the 4870 for the whole two pages I've been in this thread. This isn't even google showing you up, its reading two pages ago.

Suddenly forgot that?
I can use Google. You apparently can't even search for your own posts.
