An army mechanic overseas in Iraq found out his leave would coincide with his son's 6th birthday, so he hid in a four foot tall box wrapped up as a giant present.

I guess that should've gone into the news thread, but it's totally awesome. Though I wonder what the boy thinks "the war" is ... and what he'll think when he grows up.

The article made me grin until:

"He has to work," Gabriel said. "He works in the war."
