Any way for a cleric to obtain a familiar w/o losing spells?

It seems to me that familiars can become pretty bombass if you're willing to transform one into a small humanoid and give them some bow and arrows, especially if that ass is backed up with some Divine Power action.

You know, since most DMs I've played with ban the Leadership feat.

It's a one-level dip. You want a familiar that bad, just eat it.

Edit: Oh, or you take the feat in Complete Arcane--Obtain Familiar.

Just research Divine Power as an arcane spell. Ta da.

I liked taking one of the improved familiars with a high HP eldritch knight type character. Decent HP, solid BAB... never thought about giving em a bow though.
