I already consolidated many skills in 3.5 to be more like 4e.
I really like how races are handeled in 4e, though I hate how classes are.
Is there anything I would have to do to make 4e races playable in 3.5?

This is a kind of non-question. You haven't set your design goals. Do you want to make all the races balanced with each other, or do you want to make them balanced with the original 3e races? It's not hard to rewrite all the 3e races you want to use to have more interesting stuff in them. What do you view as "making them usable?" Eh? Eh?
