Halloween costumes

What's everybody dressing up as? The fam was originally doing a Miyazaki theme- my wife was going to be Ponyo, my daughter Kiki, and I was going to be a Totoro. That's fallen through now, and completely out of the blue I decided that I'm going for one of the nerdiest costumes possible- a demilich.

Any other awesome nerd costume ideas?

It's on a Saturday. I haven't decided yet. I may put together a V costume. Last year I went as a drug dealer, with bags of goodies pinned to the inside of my trench coat.

Because she's almost 3 years old, and I gotta tell you- as smart and beautiful and insightful and magical as she is, 3 year old girls are CRAZY.

I suppose maybe it was just the syntax that was confusing. My daughter(Amelia) was going to be Kiki, but is now a bee or Rapunzel or a ladybug or Spiderman.

I'm not sure this year. Right now, the only time I dress up for Halloween is when I take my daughter trick-or-treating. So far, we've always worn themed costumes. Last year she was a monkey and I went as a zoo keeper. The year before she went as a dragon and I went as a knight (with actual chainmail!).

I haven't thought about what to do this year. She's getting old enough that I'll probably stop dressing up with her soon.

Actually, I am so proud of her. We were at a thrift store, and she found this Spiderman mask that she absolutely wanted to get, and told me it was okay for me to get it for her, because I could get one too. Know what I ended up with? Darth Vader mask. She is pint-sized awesome.

Alas I have no children but I push every parent of a toddler I know to dress the wee one in Yoda garb, get a backpack carrier, and re-enact the Luke on Dagobah training sequence.

Or if you have an infant, make a belly harness, cover it in rubber and go as Kuato from Total Recall.

The original plan was FU Manchu.Hell, I've been growing the moustache for almost 6 mounts now. But, those plans fell through for some odd reason. So, my idea right now is to play a Ronin. SPecifically Toshiro Mifune in Yojimbo/Sanjuro.

Fairy Whore. It's rather disconcerting.

I'm on the fence. My choices are Duke Nukem, or Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I'm too fat for Duke and not fat enough for Carl, so it's a toss up.

So I have one of these. I was going to try to include it in my costume somehow.

Note: The skull is the starting point. I need ideas as to what to go as. Any good costumes that include skulls?

It should be peeking out of your fly and flashing red.

It is literally the size of my head. My pants aren't that big.

I went as Locke from FF6 last year, still debating what to do this year. Thinking about dressing up as Gendo Ikari, presuming I can get the "has facial hair" thing down. Also need to actually watch Evangelion sans WH40K.

Well, I was ambivalent for a bit, not knowing what I'd be doing, if anything. But given that a friend did just invite me to her (early) Halloween party, I'm revisiting the ideas I've had.

Current ideas are:
  • vrock (have been able to figure out how to do the head, by nothing else)
  • Pokemon trainer (sturdy nomadic modern clothes, pokeballs, Pokemon plushie)
  • finish Gir costume from last year (was making a sweatshirt that would replicate Gir's disguise from Invader Zim)
  • Haunter (same idea as Gir, a sweatshirt costume)
But I'm still kinda thinking.

Hm... maybe Hellboy? Just need trench coat, makeup, RHoD, maybe some props. Can make a Trench Coat, could probably make a RHoD, could probably even make a Samaritan or Big Baby...

Anyone know any good sites for movie prop replication communities?

Thanks, Fectin, but that seems like a lot of work and tools I don't have for an ultimately crappy replica.

edit: I'm surprised that there was apparently never a nerf gun merch toy of the samaritan...
