Necessity of "expanded combat" in using the AS system?

Post by Judging__Eagle »

Currently, I'm not seeing it. Being able to just have enough hits at start of game to kill a chimera is honestly a good thing. Sure, the non-specialists aren't able to pull that off; but a specialist out of the gate can do some pretty awesome stuff, like use a crossbow on a Str 8 chimera and kill it.

I know that it's been said that to use AWoD/After Sundown in anything but a modern setting it needs to have ti's combat "expanded", but I'd like to hear other's thoughts on the topic.

I think that if anything simply including a bunch of maneuvers based on existing ones from the Combat options section, and adding in some new options.

The Gaming Den; where Mathematics are rigorously applied to Mythology.

While everyone's Philosophy is not in accord, that doesn't mean we're not on board.
