A bit more specialized than the youtube/videos thread.
There's way more TED Talks than I'll probably ever get to watch (well over 1000 now). I mostly get fed links to choice ones from my dad who is retired and basically does a blog-email where he trolls financial and tech blogs and TED talks as his full time hobby.
I'll probably throw in some of my favorite radiolabs later too just to get people hooked.
Here's a few recent TEDs that I liked.
Jack Horner gets rid of some dinosaurs.
Vijay Kumar's awesome flying automatons
Sort of semi-related... The Show by Ze Frank is wrapping up its kickstarter. If I get good job news in the next couple days I'll probably contribute to it even though it's already overshot its goal. If anyone missed The Show in 2006-2007, Ze basically did a short news-culture-fun-vidblog 5 days a week for the year and it was pretty awesome at the time. It probably has lost some of its appeal since it was addressing things in the current news, but I think a lot of the episodes are still great years later. I'll be eager for when they start up anew.
