Blitzwing and Friends: Go or No?

I have no clue (yet I must scream) if this is the right place to do so, but honestly, I don't give a leapin' aarakocra.

So, some friends of mine are running an Elder Scrolls themed campaign. I, the contrary ass that I am, have decided to play Blitzwing . My question: What powers should he have, aside from the obvious triple changing ability?

I am open to any suggestion involving Ki-Rin.

Please ignore him.

He's trying to fuck with me.

How do you balance a cartoon robot with a lizard wizard that runs around stuffing random plants into its mouth in order to learn the secrets of alchemy?

Well, you're on the right track because you didn't choose Astrotrain (who's a moron). Blitzwing's strengths, aside from being able to turn into a frickin' tank is that he is also a master strategist. I'd try and make the build able to use his strategic to determine key points, fly there quickly (as a jet) then blow things up (as a tank).

Plus as a robot he'd probably be able to scavenge stuff like Centurion Dynamos.

He's a triple changer, so he needs at least one major power for each form.

the obvious choices are
Flight
So sort of big blasty power to serve as a Tank Cannon
and some sort of robot-y power

In D&D terms, that sounds roughly like a 5th level wizard.

If this is running in D&D, it could certainly make things simpler. I was assuming some kind of sketchy Elder Scrolls fan-RPG.

Tome of Fiends has feats for increasing size and transforming into a seemingly harmless human. Might be a decent starting point.

EDIT:
Perhaps a Gadgeteer with a custom prestige class.

These are all excellent strategies, yesss.... Now, tell me else whats on your mind(s) or I'll splatter it/them against the wall and see for myself!

(Blitzwings words, not mine.)

And yes, it is in D&D, but with an Elder Scrolls flair. We're killing gods .

Fun.

By teh way, was this

It's Tome D&D set in Tamriel, although it's an alternate history version by this point (especially since there's going to be Blitzwing and all,) probably set around the time of (and replacing the events of) Morrowind, starting with the Tribunal, moving on to an earlier returned than expected Alduin (as the shit's hit the fan since the Neravarine prophecies aren't coming true, so really all sorts of shenanigans will be occurring)

As Shrapnel says, me and another friend of mine (another member of our group who doesn't post here) were discussing how to make functional deity rules (including how to become one by stabbing them in the face,) and that somehow ended up with a god killing spree in the Elder Scrolls setting, so that's what I wrote (mid to high levels, probably ~5-15, as by the end the party should be on par with the weaker Daedric Princes, since at the end they'll be killing the Nine.)

Blitzwing killing Akatosh God of War style is the funniest thing I can imagine, so I'm definitely running it now.

Still fiddling with the specifics, although it's probably going to be mostly bonuses and DM bullshitting to finish it (maybe with a few free Spheres as they advance in power relating to the portfolios that the players want), and would honestly be kind of embarrassed to put up what I have ATM unless the game turns out really well.

On another note I did make a very crude Elder Scrolls d20 system in my freshman year of high school, although I don't have anything from it left (which is probably a GOOD thing) or recall much of it.

And I retract my statement earlier in this thread; I just didn't want you guys to have to do Shrapnel's dirty work for him (or more likely me.)

Yeah, reflavouring fiend stuff makes sense. Mash together Fiendish Brute, and conduit, or just use pure True Fiend, with a custom sphere, and a couple of feats based off of Harmless Form, or just handwave the "I turn into a JET muthafucka!" thing as part of "Flight, at will" or whatever.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Season 2 was the best, in my opinion.

On another note: I know you said Astrotrain was a moron, but if I did play him, I'd get some bitchin' minions .
(...I must have linked to the TF wiki over twenty times by now...)

Also, speaking of minions, can I get a second-in-command ?
(...another one!)

Oh, and one last thing...

Well, you're probably going to want to start with a class like Mechanus Warrior. I would ask the DM to allow you to take a feat of "enhanced Cog Transformation" which caused you to literally have three different forms when your cog weapons change. The sample cog weapons are just that: samples. So if you wanted to, you could very plausibly have different ones. The Gear Thrower works well for the guns on the plane form, and the magnetic dust works for the robot's energy sword. But you'd probably want to trade the Drill and Cutter for a Tank Gun - big damage in a one shot a round sort of way.

Beyond that, you grab a Large Size feat, and I think you're mostly good to go.

Weapon Cogs (Ex): The Mechanus Warrior has a special relationship with minor Modron assistants that live inside his body called Cogs. These creatures transform into useful items. At first level, the Mechanus Warrior can transform them into various self propelled weapons that are attached to his body or withdraw them into himself as a Move Action. A Mechanus Warrior can always use their Strength Modifieron attack rolls with their Weapon Cogs, regardless of whether it is a ranged weapon or melee weapon. Attacking with a Weapon Cog only literally requires one hand to use it, but the other hand cannot make a weapon attack in a Two Weapon Fighting sort of way. Weapon Cog weaponry always has an enhancement bonus of 1/3 the character's level to attack and damage, rounded up (no max).
So, if I am reading this right (which I may not be*), this essentially means that I can pop weapons and other cool shit out my body like a Swiss army knife? I sure hope so. The image of a Soviet MiG-25 fighter jet with a can opener popping out of it is just really funny.

Yeah, a can opener, a pair of scissors, some lock picks, or a ladle can simply pop out of you at any time. Might be too much of a "Live Action Transformers" deal. it's a cool ability, but my goodness those movies were terrible.

They were the epitome of why cartoons should never be made into anything live-action. Especially when Michael Bay and/or Megan Fox are involved.

Hmm... a Japanese Type-74 assault tank with a ladle for a turret... not a bad idea. Thanks, Frank!

Y'know, I should just change my name legally to Blitzwing and be done with it.

Sweet Mother of the Nine Divines YES!! Daedra hopping is something I've always wanted to do in the Elder Scrolls verse (that and till recently, go to Akavir). I would also advocate for an intelligent Mudcrab, especially who wears and steals Sweet Rolls. Elder SCrolls is pretty interesting, especially when ye get the implication of how Gods and certain oblivion realms are indicated to be Planets...Also to be fair, Elder Scrolls did have a giant robot, made by the Dwemer, who are super awesome science dwarves who on the cusp of learning how to manipulate reality.

Well, Blitzwing was created by a god of order who battled Orson Welles. And Cybertron is really Secunda . So it all works.

And actually, we are killing the Aedra , also known as the Nine Divines. Or the Eight Divines, if you are either from the Alessian era or agree with the Thalmor . Which I hope you don't. Otherwise...

...and not the Daedra, bringing me back to my point.

And finally, the Dwemer got nothin' on me when it comes to advanced tech:

I'd like to see steam-power match THAT.

Not sure how many Daedra the party will get to, as they'll probably start with the Tribunal and Alduin (this campaign uses an alternate history, around, and replacing, the events of Morrowind onwards and thus the Tribunal exists and Alduin will appear early because essential NPCS have died the strands of fate have been severed and Blitzwing and friends must continue on in this doomed world) and move on to the Nine.

The campaign will probably end with my summer break, but if things continue some Daedra may be fought (Mehrunes Dagon, at the very least, will likely appear since he's like the cheesy Mortal Kombat Movie Goro or a Machamp on Steroids who goes RAWR I WILL SMASH YOU MORTALS HURR DURR whenever he gets the chance, and since the events of Oblivion won't likely occur in this game he'll, like Alduin, be able to force his hand early... and unlike Alduin, he'll probably be dumber about it, even though he is much stronger.)

No idea about Akaviri shit although Yuan-Ti and the monkey player race from Oriental Adventures are basically the dominant groups there IIRC and thus some crap from there might appear.

The Talking Mudcrab Merchants are totally in, since they're already running Pelagiad, and Sweet Rolls will be in their inventory.

May throw other Easter Egg characters too, depending on how I feel.

If Denners are interested I can start a thread cataloging what happens in game (campaign starts Saturday, and should continue weekly.)

EDIT: Shrapnel beat me to (most of) what I was answering.

Most of what he says is fairly accurate from what I've told him the game will be like

I like the use of the Morrowind text that tells you you're screwed.

Also, I will be keeping a Blitzwing Diary. Probably on the same thread as Damage Resistance. I mean, Darth Rabbitt.

And, yes. Yes I did.

[I cast thread necromancy; stock magicky sound effect]

So, I've been contemplating playing yet another Transformer. Since last time you guys helped DarthRabbitt me build a create a great Blitzwing, I figure I'd ask for some more help on the matter.

This time, I'm considering the most massive Transformer ever, Fortress Maximus.

The fact that I recently pre-ordered the toy is completely irrelevant and isn't influencing my decision at all. Totally.

For those that don't feel like trawling the TFwiki for info, here's a small intro on the character:
Fortress Maximus' characterisation varies from continuity and incarnation. However, to list them all would make things needlessly confusing. So, I'll base the character off of the way he's portrayed in the Japanese cartoon.

Basically, Fort Max is really a diminutive Cybertronian known as Fortress. He can connect to a larger, lifeless robot - called a "transector" - called Cerebros.

Fortress also has a large spaceship-cruiser/city-base known as Spaceship Bruce Battleship Maximus. The Maximus can also turn into a gigantic transector. When Fortress combines with Cerebros, Cerebros can then in turn transform into the head of Maximus, and thus Fortress Maximus is formed.

Fort Max is pretty much loaded to the brim with weapons: Laser turrets on his arms, plasma cannons in his legs, a photon rifle, a dual laser cannon, the Master Sword, and many more. He also has control over two drone robots: Gasket, who turns into a tank thingy, and Grommet, who turns into a... another tank thingy. They can in turn combine to form the semi-autonomous robot Cog. Cog comes equipped with a laser rifle all his own. Cog can do all sorts of droney/scouty stuff.

Fort Max's tech specs, if it helps, are:

Strength 10
Intelligence 10
Speed 10
Endurance 9
Rank 10
Courage 10
Firepower 10
Skill 9
So, obviously my biggest (pun intended) problem off the bat, is well, the fact that Fort Max is literally Big McFucking Large-Huge. Or words to that effect.

Now, I myself would love to have Fort Max's toy take up half the table and crush the other minitures and push the snacks off. But apparently, other players have expressed an unwillingness to let me do that. No figuring some people.

Some my question is this: How do I handle the fact that Fort Max is huge?

I can't remember off the top of my head if Giant Size can be permanancied, but if it can and you can cough up the dough then that would make you colossal. Not sure what you could stack with that to make you Big McFucking Large-Huge, but that's a start.
