The benefit of subtypes subtracting abilities is simplicity. I realize this sounds reverse but you need to remember that 'ability subtracting' subtypes are rare. Dominicius did you do this psionics rewrite? I love it. If I hadn't already fallen in love with the Gadgeteer concept I'd be playing a Erudite for sure.
