I think the Kantian Paladin is a great remake of the Paladin but it's so boring. Basically I agree with what Catharz says about it. IGTN's Paladin deserves credit for the best Smite mechanics I've ever seen. Templar is a good class but not recognizable as a Paladin replacement.

Am I the only one who wants the Druid's 'loophole' to work? Nature Provides is a kinda flavorful workaround to a stupid rule. Sure, he shouldn't've gone VoP in the first place. Honestly VoP shouldn't even exist. But the workaround is good enough for me. ((And letting people fall to their deaths is ...

I'd rather roleplay that game too.

Maybe the spirit stuff this season will bring back the 'epic fantasy' feeling.

To start, D&D does not have a consistent setting and avoiding a ruleset because it doesn't fit one aspect of one particular setting is dumb. What's even more spectacularly dumb is that mass combat IS HAPPENING in the settings. Seriously read the first page of any campaign setting book and it'll ...

Ok, so I've been reading through Legend because I want to give it a test, but I am completely confused as to how, exactly, the Monk "Poison the Blood" ability works precisely. Each time you deal [Precision] damage to an opponent with Close Meridian, Disarm, Grapple, Neutralize, Open Gate,...

You said that feats should not grant numeric bonuses. I ask again, what does the Mounted Combat feat grant the player?

We hear what you're saying but your arguments are bad.

power attack should totally not be a feat because even i can power attack when chopping wood; no shit. it's a part of the core mechanic. weapon finesse shouldn't be a feat for the exact same reason. [edit] and i pointed that out on the first page. no feat chains. no feats granting numerical bonuses...

ELH has a CR 57 that can deal 3240 damage a round to anyone with an AC below 77, but DR 10/- will negate nearly half of it. And a bug that has 3000 HP. The numbers are totally made up.

1-10 allows for easier story telling because there is a lot going on above your heads, aka MCguffins. @all, with 1-10 and 11-20, would you prefer the 10/11 power gap to be in line with the other levels, such that 4 level 10s can fight 2 level 11s? You might level up to level 11 mid adventure and now...

Although workable, I don't see the advantage versus baking it all into a system where the weapons attack on the same speed.

It's also the problem that campaigns tend to be run on MacGuffin plots. You need to collect the Spirit Stones because they're significantly more powerful than you and can be used to Conquer/Immortal/Destroy in ways that you normally wouldn't be able to. But Super Powerful Dragonballs don't work when...

For example, the player characters are the demigod-like masters of a tribe of hunter-gatherer humans who have banded together to steal the secret of immortality from the gods, which is kept on their home plane of Nogard next to the Eternal Fire. This establishes a clear goal (Nogard), incentive (im...

Building a mech isn't crafting it's picking your class levels and feats. Crafting is just picking class levels and feats for your weapons. Is it? Not in 3.5e it's not, you just pick one from a book and say, "I make that!" Unless you advocate Weapons Of Legacy being the only craft-able ite...

Well, for one, despite the use of the word 'Rage' that's not actually a Rage Meter. It's a complicated Warm-Up system. The basic idea behind a Rage Meter is that it's a resource management system that players do not (directly) control but is affected by common player actions. I think that calling t...
