Re: Josh Rebuts the State of the Union
There's a reason why many doctors, nurses and health care experts who know our system best consider this approach a vast improvement over the status quo. But if anyone from either party has a better approach that will bring down premiums, bring down the deficit, cover the uninsured, strengthen Medi...

When I tried Maptool it was arguably as bad as OpenRPG. Who the fuck designs the user interface for these things? Is it the same guy who designed the Honda Element and the new Subaru Impreza? :bored: If you can do better, then go make one. They're free, and I'm not seeing particularly better option...

Piece of crap. Some of the worst user interface design known to man. The map usage is completely obtuse. The character sheet and scripting features are completely obtuse. Incredible bloat. I don't have a single nice thing to say about that program. Of course, I only used it a long time ago too but ...

Re: Iron Heart Surge... WTF?
Ok... so after hearing lots of remarks imply IHS was completely broken, I finally decided to actually look it up and see what it does. broken? uber? what? ...what am I not thinking about here? The thing about Iron Heart Surge is that it does everything except what you think it should do. It won't, ...

There are basically two aspects to the flavor of any given ability: Its inherent flavor, which is actually mechanically integrated, and all the other fluff, which you can totally change all you like without really impacting the mechanics. Inherent flavor is stuff that derives directly from the game ...

The thing about prosthetics is... well, let's just say I expect the Special Olympics to be more interesting than the regular Olympics sooner rather than later ;) [*]4. Every other stat is not an automatic dump stat. What does Charisma need to pull it out of that realm? What I did was make it add to (or subtract from) Action Points in my games. Seemed to work well enough. If I were to make more significant changes to the game than my usual patchwork of 3.5 fixes, ...

Re: Animu: The imbalanced encounter.
Unlike some folks, I am not an animu connoisseur. My palate is unrefined, so to speak, and I do not frequently watch animu, so my experience is limited. However, I have noticed a trend in animu for the "boss" battles to be extremely imbalanced. It seems that many of them--not all of them,...

I gotta agree with Tequila Sunrise here LAGO. 3e's wealth system was... bleh. Ya know, you do give some good advice here. But as usual, your hard-on for 3e leads you to one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard: 4E could have gone a long way towards mitigating this effect if they had implemented a sa...
