No you don't. You can let people attempt to jump, but only suffer harm if they crit fail it. On a simple fail, they stop short of actually jumping. You see it on TV all the time. People run towards the chasm, and stop short because they decide they just don't have the momentum/guts/psycho to try to ...

I want to reiterate what Frank said. Sometimes your PC's will come up with a theory that is just more fun than what you had planned. So change your plan, and let their theory work out to be right. Also, never have stupid puzzles or mind games they need to solve. If the players need to know how you t...

I feel shame for replying to a Shadzar thread. That being said, part of playing an rpg is actually having the game. If you make a character that fundementally cannot join the party. Or two of the players make characters that will implode the campaign within 2 sessions. You've failed on first princip...

The way to do a jump check like that for a chase scene is actually pretty simple. Bad guy jumps the chasm.. PC's follow. they make jump checks: On a success, they make it to the otherside, and have to take a round to get up. On a Crit success, or if they make the DC by say more than 5... they just k...

Except its' not player driven. It's.. I say mother may I, and the DM says yay or nay depending on his mood, how many dorito bags I have brought to the game, and wether or not I look good in a cheerleader outfit.

Are you really going to sit there and complain that a show based on the Marvel Universe is going to lose your interest if it doesn't make sense? Marvel fucking universe? Just turn in your geek badge now. What's next.. you going to complain about the lack of good female role models? Or maybe how ther...

3E also had the OGL and people writing world books, and alternate worlds that required the main book, and were fully compatible with the monster manuals, etc..

That helped drive a lot of player handbook sales.

I solve that issue Maj, by having a seperate login on my computer for the kids. It's a non-admin account, that i log in for them. My account is password protected, and theirs is not.

It works pretty well so far.

Given that Point-Blank Mythic has a prereq of regular mythic, and so do all of the other mythic feats, that's going to be fairly difficult to pull off. Because, really or the most part you just won't have the feat slots to pick up mythic feats till higher up.

Charging low level hanging flying opponents is a power you should get when fly becomes a spell that can be reliably cast. Not at Over level 20.

yeah, okay. FUCK YOU Pathfinder. Point-Blank Shot(Mythic) Your accuracy with ranged attacks is unmatched at point-blank range. Prerequisite(s): Point-Blank Shot. Benefit: The bonus on attack and damage rolls granted by Point-Blank Shot increases to +2. As a swift action, you can expend one use of my...

There are no good ideas in MMOs. Well except once. You need enough money for a print run. You also need enough money to kepp 6 people in hooch, hookers and blow until it's done writing.
Those people might also want to eat, and have a place to live.

THere is one minor problem with Werewolf and Vampire as base classes. If you go with the idea of lycanthropy and vampires turning others.. then those don't make sense as a base class, because. What do you do with a level 8 Man-at-arms/Mage Hunter, who is bitten by a werewolf? Now, if you go with the...

5 levels for base classes is a good spot. You just have prestige classes, or advanced classes past level 5. Wizard: Goes on to Archmage, SongSmith, Enchanter, blahblahblah Cleric: Goes on to Holy guide, Holy Warrior, Hieorphant, Healer, Blasphemer. also, you don't have to use cleric as a base class....

I'm trying to figure out what I like in Sword and Sorcery fantasy. I liked Wheel of Time for the first 2-3 books. But then I just got tired of most of his characters. When you skip entire chapters, because you're tired of watching him write about a girl pulling on her tresses in frustration, it's ti...
