Re: In honor of Frank and his Sheep.
Oh goody, I've always wanted to lose my identity and join a cult. So are we going to do a big mad suicide or something, or are we one of those loser cults?

Here are a couple of my favorites.[br][br]Slayers[br][br]You almost have to have heard of this. Follow Lina Inverse, a hyperactive mage with the power of a lesser god as she deto...

Re: Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Gah, I just read that ritual spellcasting crap. I thought it was going to be over when nightmarex swore to drop out because he was "tired of repeating himself," but then he comes back to call another poster a drama queen.

I'd like to thank leress for the spoonyexperiment link. I think listening to the review of final fantasy 8 has allowed me to get over the trauma that game caused me and that now the healing can really begin.

Re: Shadowrun - Why no skilled labour shortage?
The real labor shortage that should exist in shadowrun is mages. The awakened are like 5 percent of the population or something. Even if every mage has nothing better to do than guard duty for the corporations, there still aren't enough to go around.[br][br]As for skilled labor, we always played tha...

Re: Online Gaming Communities (rant-ish)
I lurked around the WoW forums when I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy WoW. The only thing I really noticed was the fact that every class had a board full of people bemoaning the fact that they were the most underpowered class and that Blizzard was clearly prejudiced against them.

Re: Supreme Court Stacking
I always find myself surprised that the supreme court doesn't suffer a series of lethal accidents and diseases every time someone new comes to power. They are old and they are lawyers so they probably do not take care of themselves. It would not be that suspicious if four of them kicked off over the...

Losing your class features - It is not fun to suddenly be an npc class. At no point should a character have levels in an Ex-whatever class.

Re: Tips for DMing: stuff to speed DMing/Gameplay
In one game we stopped rolling damage and just used the average (rounded down). It really helped when we were fighting a tiger or something with five natural attacks, both in that the game went quicker and there was less of a chance that a closet troll could do enough damage to kill absolutely anyth...

Re: [Speedbump] Subtype
[br] As for CR and LA adjustments, facing something with *double* base hitpoints should be not more than CR+2. CR+2 is reserved for actually having two of something. Sure, it's got some fancy moves, and an extra HD, but CR+1 is probably right on. [br][br]Good point. I was also actually thinking of a...

Re: Why do Efreet/Djinni want wishes?
Efreeti are Cr 8 monsters in a world where it is totally acceptable to form yourself into a roving gang and go around killing monsters for their stuff. Wish is, according to the SRD, the most powerful spell a wizard or sorceror could cast. I fail to see how an efreeti could reach the point where the...

I remember when the Char Op board was messing with that. There are two big problems that make this challenge hard.[br][br]1. The judge bans anything that he feels is cheesy. When talking about the test for what is cheesy he said something like a character who could upset the cosmic balance. Since we...

I was going to suggest the contingency (when I die) mind jar combo, but you seem to be lowering the level.[br][br]For a necromancer I would start things off with a casting of fear. A little gem from Giant in the Playground forums. A sixteen page fighter v. wizard thread with a very misleading title. The real highlight of the thread is Grr, who has taken the Oberoni fallacy to an entirely new level.
