It's not actually possible for good and evil to be real forces that exist, any more than it's possible for gravity to be a value judgement. are you argueing that magic, gods, elves, halflings cannot exist in fantasy games? because you seem to. or you are missing the point so hard, it makes me want ...

morality is really not complicated in D&D. good and evil are real forces that exist, not just value judgements based on societal standards. getting bent out of shape over "evil races" when you can literally detect and even measure the evil in them is... weird.

Almost anything that isn't "you use this as its own action on your turn" is an ability that you have to toggle on/off before it becomes relevant. Things that give you an AoO for someone else being shot, or allow a Swift Action Attack when you scare someone, are their own activated options...

it's mostly fucking with numbers. sometimes stacking shit that doesn't stack to "cheat" encounters so they are "challenging". I once fought a guy with three instances of natural armor that all stacked. essentially you have to break the RNG as fast as possible. if the d20 roll aff...

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Derpeous has a preview of their new prestige classes up. it has the expected Hellknights, the not-bad Winter Witch and the baffeling Student of War and pants of head retarded Assassin. these people seem to have lost their mind. Assassin? for real? "but he can take a myt...

so... I did not know how wrong you can play D&D. or maybe it's just me expecting something wrong... anyway, back to the amazing WotR campaign. I now know for sure all the Story NPCs got killed by a random bad roll, which also took the entire army we were supposed to use to conquer this queer tow...

my... I mean... a friends... 5e group just reached level 5. we have a bunch of potions, a scroll and a wand of magic missile. pretty high fantasy stuff, if you ask me. god, this game is depressing when you think about it. on the other hand it gives players some "technically" OP shit via cl...

What 5e does wrong is the amount of concepts supported by the system, because it literally doesn't support 90% of things you would see in 3.5, and the tools the players are given to make their own concept work are woefully inadequate. you still can't play the Ranger without Playtest materials. that...

remember the free action errata that made it impossible to shoot more than 3 arrows on your turn? urgh. I guess they are tailoring the new system to their experience with their customers. ok. gonna give them credit for that.

I usually don't mind that, but when the entire group is not on board for it, it can get really fucking annoying. though I do prefer the rails to be more of a direction, not an enclosed tunnel. also what wizard does not have one command undead or hold undead prepared just because sometimes you get a ...

yeah, met that guy once. it wasn't "fun", exactly. would be if our caster had control undead, though. but he was mostly busy setting up a tailoring shop on a second identity, so he wasn't someone to rely on for anything, really. the group had no heavy hitters, I was their healer. we kinda ...

yeah, I didn't see anything remotely redeemable and even the paladin/cleric duo are using ambush tactics of "kill first, ask questions never". fun fact, the weird teleport interpretation is meant to help capture and redeem bad guys, but all I see is it forces them to fight to the death. le...
