"Eh, this is probably some plot of Professor MacGlobule; he's always hated me ever since I stole that Twelfth Dynasty find from under his wrinkles nose, that old bastard." [ooc]Archibald Kindersley is a hunched-over old man with a white beard down to the middle of his chest, with sparkling...

'Eh? What? Where am I? Who are you people? Are you with the tenure committee? For the last time, Professor Tralkin has my application, talk to him about it!" Archibald slowly realizes that the towering steel monster and the other people are, in fact, not part of said committee. "Alright, g...

I have an intelligence bonus of +5 with eighteen intelligence and the +2 from being old, which gives me two extra first level slots, for a total of five. I'm a diviner, having lost evocation, which gives me an extra divination-only slot. I forgot to change my class to diviner, which I'll do in a jif...

On the other hand, Is this phenomenon of multiple programs doing similar things to avoid monotony the same reason why Backtrack and Whois seem so similar? Absolutely. WhoIs is much the better effect honestly, but BackTrack is usable by IC. -Username17 This implies that WhoIs isn't usable by IC becau...

Yeah, man, I like putting up things too. On a different note, Blackhammer and other brain-hacking programs have a range of Signal (LOS), which means that they can't be used over a connection, and there has to be direct line of sight: therefore, IC and defending hackers can't use that kind of stuff o...

I vote no on the ToN, to be honest. Using tome stuff opens up a lot of doors that I don't think we want to go down- I don't think it would end well using the ToN and not anything else, and I don't know if we want a fully fledged tome game.

I've been looking for some new music, and I thought it was time to resurrect this thread. The Decemberists- Shankill Butchers. Atmospheric, interesting, indie folk. They're a really versatile, interesting band, and while all their stuff is folk-esque, it varies quite a bit. Fang Island- Daisy. Hyper...

No. I might not like the lethality of Shadowrun because I don't like running games in which those mechanics because it involves telling stories that I don't like telling. That's one thing. On the other hand, having overlapping durations, Padded Sumo, and a lack of interesting abilities for the Fight...

Also, trading HP for spells at a 1:1 ratio is way too good- high level wizards can have 100+ HP which makes using 9hp to cast wish or what have you a pretty small deal. Maybe making it a 2:1 ratio or having it also incur con damage might be better. It would require you to be at less then 1/2 your l...

okay holy fucking shit I screwed up this character- turns out IUS doesn't give you a monk progression like I thought it did- this was a really stupid mistake, and I have no idea what the devil I'll be doing. Having the preserved heart of the creature in question seems like a pretty good idea, as it allows the DM to clamp down a bit on dumpster-diving if she feels fit. Otherwise, I'm inclined to agree with Seerow. What problems does this solve, exactly?

Whoops, I forgot to list my sourcebooks. I'm using the PHB, Complete Warrior, and Sandstorm. How comedic are you intending this campaign to be? I'm fully intending my character to insist on making the most dramatic entrance possible at all times and spout one-liners at every oppourtunity- I can tone...

Huh, I didn't think of that. Yeah, that would probably work; you could even have some fluff about the Skriatok turning to Exotic Eastern Magics to combat the incursions of some group in order to explain it, providing some interesting backstory and plot hooks for Skriatok characters. I don't know how...

I'm between books at the moment, looking for something quick and dirty. Yeah, I think that works. It's still a good idea to have the three basic categories of Eastern, Tribal, and European so we can have them map to the three power sources in some sense- it should be possible to have Tribal tech-based characters but there's a nice bit of symmetry in that each racial gro...

I reckon we can just go ahead and make steamborgs an archetype- it seems pretty simple to make 'borg limbs or whatever a manifestation of caster shell technology in that you bind spirits into the limbs that let them move as you command or what have you. It could probably give you access to super spe...

I think the aim in having SA's was firstly a way to soften the lethality of the combat and secondly a way to encourage players to follow plot hooks and so on. And yeah, character performance is really swingy- rolling poorly on a parry or a block can literally kill you if you're not wearing much armo...
