Re: Designing a super rogue

Yup, you're right, I misremembered it specifically referencing selective incorporeality instead of vaguely calling it ghostly and transparent.

Re: New Edition of Rules

There will be no more grinding anything, leveling is quest based or arbitrary, and if we don't fight animals, where will we have armies of armored bears, or wolf riding goblins. Actually, don't answer that, I think a number of solutions are fairly obvious.

Re: Christmas downsizing

We have a corner deli with walking distance, a mile, everything else would take too long to walk to to even be remotely worth it. We do have a pretty nice restaurant in town, about a 7 minute drive, and a number of less fancy but still good restaurants within the same distance.

Blade of Pain and fear, 2nd level spell in Libris Mortis. Gives you a melee weapon that does 1d6+1 per 2 cls, uses touch attacks, and causes a save versus fear when damaging an opponent for 1 minute per level. Get a pair of use activated wondrous items shaped like weapon hilts that activate when you...

Re: New Edition: Continuity vs. Ralroading

Shouldn't what is and is not a viable character concept be partially divorced from the system, being mostly decided by the particular campaign setting?

Believe me, it's nothing so simple as a string of particular numbers. We should put this topic on hold until Monday rolls around and I get a chance to start explaining.

Re: Best System for Dragonlance?

It points to something significantly beyond human capability, it could be chalked up to extremely massive coincidence, though the chances are wildly astronomical, extraterrestrials, or something else far beyond human capabilities and knowledge thousands of years ago. Whatever it is, it's far beyond ...

Overpowered based on what? Is it the 10* damage thing that worries you? It actually looks a little weak to me when you consider that a hasted TWFer will be getting 10 attacks at that level, and that means ten chances to daze, petrify, plane shift, or just plain kill your opponent thanks to stuff lik...

Re: Unsorted Material

Two weapon fighting eventually gives you a shield bonus to AC when wielding two weapons; that is what that is. Besides, the name of the feat is just flavor, flavor is easy to change and usually doesn't effect game balance. If I didn't have the caveat about only being able to wield one weapon then yo...

Re: New Edition of Rules

I think it works, defenses and untrained skills get bonuses from stats, offense is solely dependent on the action taken, and trained skills work purely from ranks. Actually, if the stat bonuses aren't too huge, I don't see a problem with stats adding to trained skills.

6 natural armor, darkvision, a swim speed and +2 to Str, Con, Int and Cha, aren't as good as a a feat and an extra skill point?
