Re: WotC is still in denial: Fighters
I don't have time to make fun of his entire article, so here's just a few pieces.[br][br] The fighter's 10-sided Hit Dice let him absorb lots of damage and keep right on going. [br][br]Because no SoD spell is ever based off a Will save. Right.[br][br] Because a fighter can use any simple or martial ...

Re: The Paladin Re-Done
Now there's something I hadn't thought of, probably due to a lack of familiarity with the majority of armour abilities from RoW. I'll look up the various armours and come up with something.

Re: The Squirrasque
Heh. Assign it some feats from Races of War. Like Great Fortitude. That oughtta make up at least a little bit for the fact that it can't do any real damage.

Re: Utility Magic
I agree Eberron is retarded. After all, thanks to Eberron rules, my Changeling Rogue3/Marshall1 was getting... let's see... seven ranks... +3 Charisma... +3 from Motivate Charisma... another four from synergies... or was it six? Can't quite recall, but I was getting either 27 or 29 on my Diplomacy c...

Re: Utility Magic
Okay, so wizards and sorcerers, or wizards at least, can easily enough pick up bard spells. That answers my question.[br][br]Might as well add Sympathetic Vibration to the list. That's a neat one for getting people out of a building fast. Or just vandalism. Whatever.[br][br]Suddenly Wu-Jen specific ...

Nightwalkers rule.[br][br]That being said, and completely not being supported at all, on to my next point.[br][br]Rogues rule way harder.[br][br]Also.[br][br]Real Rogues play Clerics, but the best Rogues are 'Clerics', not to mention 'Druids', 'Paladins', 'Rangers', and a couple 'Favoured Souls', ju...

Re: Utility Magic
Scrolls use what for their DC?[br][br]As far as my experience goes, and I may be wrong about this, but scrolls use their creator's ability modifier when crafting to set the DC. Not to mention that most seem to allow a caster using a scroll to use their own ability modifier for the DC. And while we'r...

The Squirrasque
Alright, this wasn't part of a campaign, this is just something me and a buddy did a while back to prove a point.[br][br]We were comparing the Tarrasque with some Dragons. I noticed the Very Old Gold Dragon and remembered a comment I had made to a friend in my earlier D&D days about the Tarrasqu...

Re: The Paladin Re-Done
Are you trying to balance it against the PHB fighter or the RoW fighter/PHB cleric? [br][br]I suppose both for the sake of first level. I know the RoW Fighter well, and at first level, it's still the meatshield for all intents and purposes. That changes pretty much as soon as second level comes alo...

I'm not to familiar with the rules of researching spells, so feel free to correct if I'm wrong about the following.[br][br]I notice that you don't have Glibness on the list. Obviously, since it's a Bard spell. But couldn't a wizard or sorcerer research or, more accurately, create the spell for thems...

By the gods![br][br]The Knight gets an ability that might almost make him useful in a situation that will probably never arise! Blasphemy![br][br]So...[br][br]What if it was a Swashbuckler/Knight seducing a noble? Would the Knight's bonus then transfer to the Bluff check? I know it says Diplomacy, b...

Re: The Paladin Re-Done
True, at first level, he has no real special combat abilities, but c'mon, it's first level. With 10 + CON hit points, +1 BAB, and Martial Weapon Proficiency, he'll be playing the same role as the Fighter for that level. Hit the kobold, make it go down. Only in this case, don't kill it. I left Undead...

Re: The Paladin Re-Done
Right. I always forget a bit of organisation. Thanks.
Honestly, if you want to make the Puretorch Blade from a natural slam attack or whatever, be my guest. Just keep in mind that your hand will always be covered in a blue flame. Pretty, yes?

Re: The Rebalanced Paladin!
Wow. I was so busy posting up my own Paladin rebuild that I missed this one. It would have made for some nice reference material.[br][br]A good go, I think, but there's a couple fundamental problems. Firstly, though those feats you've presented for the Paladin are very good as far as feats go curren...

Re: Some lessons D&D should learn from the Teen Titans
I think Raven's character was made by Robin's player.[br][br]Seriously. She's got hands-down the greatest combat ability, but completely fails to use it to its full potential. Robin's player wanted to munchkin his own character, so he made Raven's player an uber-mage of some kind. Raven's player, ho...

The Paladin Re-Done
Hey, this is my first post here. I heard Frank Trollman was really hard on people making or changing classes, so I decided this would be a good place to get some things whittled down to useful. I tend to make classes overpowered, and then I mess it up again by over-compensating and making them under...
