I am not a lawyer, but my reading of that article says that McDonalds should have ditched the sales figures and just shown the intro clip from Pulp Fiction Linky instead -- since that's evidence not internally produced by McDonalds.

So with all the marketing around Glass, I want to remind folks that Unbreakable had a character who didn't know what his weightlifting limits were, despite that character having previously played football competetively at the college level in the US of A.

I think that characters gain levels too fast under 3.x guidelines. A single adventure could reasonably be expected to have 10+ encounters, and leveling up during the adventure (every four encounters) is crazy fast. That really depends on the group and table and conventions. The XP tables assume 13....

So, would anyone suggest to dissect (relevant)dnd classes and put a needle on the level at which a member of said class would say "ok why do I still bother with this shit again when I could be out there building or toppling kingdoms?" . The answer from prior editions of D&D defaults t...

Lemme go back a few pages, because Frank is also being obtuse about Champions Strength scale. Not wrong, just not quite clear on how things work: Champions delivers on Hulk Fights pretty well. It can tell you what happens when Hulk picks up a car and throws it thirty meters to smash into a dude and ...

And with only 24 points in the pool he could have just the 12d6 gauntlet blasters and nothing else,.. Not quite. Because the 12d6 EB Gauntlet blasters are 60 Active Points and with only 24 points in the pool that would limit each individual power in the pool to no more than 24 active points, which ...

I think you are fundamentally not understanding how active point limitations work. A Variable Point Power Pool costs the active point limit plus the control cost. So if you want to be able to shoot 10die blasts, it's 50 points to start. Basically, any variable point power pool capable of generating...

I'm an edition behind but the Hulk has well over a dozen powers in Champs terms: Strength. Increased PD Increased ED Resistant PD Resistant ED Regeneration / (however that works with healing in this edition) maybe Damage Reduction on top of the defenses - the Hulk does seem relatively easy to deal m...

Wonder if a Pokemon style "List of moves, then apply them to monsters" couldve worked for 4e So every "big brute stuns you with a mighty swing" attack has the same name and effect. You could have made a much better 4e-like game by having such lists not just for monsters, but als...

Due to recent discussions of westerns, a free trial of Amazon Prime and a friend who hadn't seen it yet - I rewatched the 2016 Magnificent Seven remake tonight. It holds up really well. The 2016 subtext borders on heavy handed -- but I'm totally okay with "we should all put aside our difference...

I have to say, if you can't agree on a maximum price, a location and a layout/setup for the house, maybe you should do a bit more talking before thinking about offers. That said, multiple price drops means the owner/realtor didn't know the value of the house. Meaning the latest price might still be...

Well the cheaper place went contingent as it got a trio of all-cash offers before I could even see it, so this particular place is no longer a point of contention.

The more pressing issue now is figuring out how Count Arioch has telepathic contact with our cat.

Josh and Darcy are looking to buy a house. Darcy has her heart set on the place that is within 2 blocks of the place we currently rent. My recommendations for recent-ish westerns to watch instead would be: Hell or High Water-- this was amazing. You can import the tropes of the old west into 2016 post-financial crisis Texas and it jolly well works. Magnificent Seven remake -- this doesn't have the impact of the original (and it's arg...

Just watched the Ballad of Buster Scruggs....... And there was just no point in collecting the various pieces together. The performances are all good, the cinematography is great, the score is used well, in places the dialog is punchy, but there is just no throughline. It ends up feeeling like a ran...

Well the biggest problem with having the sort of psuedo-nuclear balance necessary for a psuedo-Cold War setting within the D&D paradigm is that the default assumptions of that paradigm already include a plethora of high-level spells and artifacts which are already that-world shattering. That dra...
