My mother would be directly in the royal line of King Wenceslaus if he wasn't unseated and murdered by his asshole of a brother. Also if Bohemia was still a nation. And a monarchy. Hey Frank, I could have been your king.

So... aside from like three guys, is therpgsite just a giant intellectual circlejerk? It doesn't strike me as particularly intellectual. There's, mostly, a lot of chest-thumping primate behavior meant to reinforce the self-images of the people who post there. I meant "intellectual" as &qu...

Master Passion Pride is something I offer. A Pride rampage looks like a histrionic person bitching everyone around them out, but with guns, swords, claws, and magic. I'm working on Elves that utilize Master Passion Pride, because if there's anything that Franks review of the Book of Elves taught me,...

Kansas City, Cont. Culture Kansas City has an interesting culture. Well, the interesting to me. Note that the culture, like everything else, it is split across county and state lines. That can totally work, I've been in a similar situation before. But yeah, double-ensure that every party involved is A-OK with what is going on; some types of "open relationships" are really only nominally so, and jealousy still happens a lot. But if they both seem cool with it, nothing st...

How all-encompassing can a game get before it gets nonfunctional? Things like GURPS are big, clunky systems that require dozens of hours of prep work because any particular game requires houseruling up the wazoo, but can (in theory) be used to replicate anything. Clearly this isn't the ideal. On the...

I guess I'll ramble a bit about Kansas City. The City(s) The first thing to understand is that Kansas City sits right on the border between Kansas and Missouri, and the bigger part of the city (by population if not geographical size) is Kansas City, Missouri, hereafter referred to as KCMO. This is t...

Describe your city/state/nation/whatever

So I read this thread about Australia. And I loved it. See, I like to do a lot of adventures set in roughly modern day, but I don't travel all that much and don't really talk much with people who don't live in my city. So really if anyone here lives in a city or country that is interesting in any wa...

Hacked Pokemon ROMs look great in concept, but there are so few complete hacks that the choice of completed games is really small. Still, there are some fun games there.

Minecraft mods. Oh lord. I have played with Technic Pack, DNS Techpack, and FTB Ultimate and enjoy them all.

Your Ideal Game

Everybody has that idea for a video game in the back of their mind that doesn't exist, but if someone made it they would throw money at them. So what is yours? I've got a couple First: A stealth-based video game that focuses on blending in, not hiding behind stuff. I picture it in some dystopia wher...

I wouldn't mind running a one-shot of 3E or 4E D&D where the PCs controlled 3-4 characters of 1st to 3rd level. Or playing in one, for that matter. I've done this multiple times; with D&D as well as with D20 Modern. It works well. I also really want to play a game of D&D with two groups...

My ideal game is a theoretical, balanced D&D 3.5/Tome with that strikes a balance between rocket launcher tag and padded sumo further away from the tag side of things than it is right now. After Sundown is awesome. GURPS, if I could convince anyone I know to take the time to sit down and learn it.
