Loseing levels is a dumb mechanic.
Catharz, your complaints apply equally to the current xp system. Only since it also includes xp costs its even more messed up.

I'm anti blanket immunities. Immunity to sneak attack sends a rogue from best balenced class in the game to dodgy in undead heavy games. Immunities can easily generate too great a swing in power. This makes balencing abilities harder.

Something better than 'it uses negative energy, and negative energy is EEEVILLE!!!'.
That'd be a perfectly good explanation, if negative energy was evil in the first place.

You have a huge list of simple bonuses already. They could be consolidated though so there'd be only one increase to each number rather than several smaller ones. If lvl 15 characters need at least an AC of 35 to not suck then thats what they should get. There isn't any point into having multiple na...

Correct, but I was talking about level equipment which dosen't get any of that either. Signiture items are the only ones people care enough about for any of that to matter with the proposed system.

To be honest I'd rather dump level based equipment completely. It makes no mechanical difference if your AC is good because you have a ring or a class ability.

If signature items are going to be optional then characters who don't want them should get some other benefit instead.

Re: 10 rules to surgically remove the glass jaw
Having cash should stop being the same as being able the get a scad of magic items. Merchants, kings and Dragons are meant to have lots of money. Its really lame when they don't just because the PCs would get too powerful. The PCs would leave behind most of the loot if it was useless to them.

Sure it does. D&D has divination spells, sense motive, search and gather information, and that's all you really need for a detective plot. In fact you don't even need divinations.
Replace need with want.

Warforged have been getting called underpowered elsewhere. Wheres the cheese?
Magic as tech: Flavour complaint, boring.
Dragon marks: unless you can abuse these for PrC entry they're underpowered IMO.

The camo pattern on WW2 warships is another example. Vertical stripes mean you don't look like a long object with the expected profile.
