I think some of the weird stuff done to classes for the sake of weird stuff that hurt the purported 3.5 backwards compatibility like the Bard and Barbarian rounds stuff might be a pain. Other classes can just be immediately taken into 3.5 without issue I think, like Cleric, Wizard, Sorcerer, Rogue, ...

You also have to take in mind the culture is so different. In 2003 fantasy stuff was dorky and geeky and who even liked that crap, right? Now compare that from 2014-2016. You'd expect a system as good as 3.5 after an underwhelming 4E to just fly off the shelves like hot cakes. Breaking even with 200...

5E on the pen and paper side has a slashed to the bone non-staff with 6 people who have to be writers, editors, type-setters, printers, etc. whatever needs to be done to make 5E material is down to under 10 people. We know that Paizo has several dozen people working for it. The last number I heard h...

speaking of Magus, is that class at all worth a shit? I know tier list stuff is verboten but a d8, two good saves, 3/4 caster casting off intelligence, they ain't too bad. It's not like full caster or a sneaky full caster like the original Summoner strong, but she can get the job done. I think they...

With Combat Expertise still being a dumb gatekeeper feat (That, Power Attack and Deadly Aim should just be attack options) with a 13 Intelligence and the gimping of bonuses and splitting the feats and the awful CMD being so much higher than CMB, is the combat maneuver guy even just generally viable ...

So what is the breakpoint for an item? If a +1 or +2 weapon costs 5000 GP, does a +3 weapon equal ten times the money? It seems like the rules are completely half assed for this, like they don't even want you doing it. And didn't they do something funky with the craft times where normally a weapon w...

The standard boss battle is already funky, mainly due to one shot kill effects and status condition and movement lockdowns. How does a higher level foe fight groups of enemies? Would a Party of 5 really be able to do 12 more standard actions than a high level foe? Wouldn't this mean that parties wou...

I think you absolutely, positively have to give martials meaningful ways to use magic and interact without things like AC/HP. Let's say casting a spell or interacting with the magic system is 3 to 4 times more effective than swinging a sword. That is probably the minimum baseline. You could very eas...

If they do to the Core 8 or whatever (Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric, Druid, Bard, Barbarian, Ranger, Paladin) what they did with this Occult stuff, yeesh. Is this them trying out Pathfinder 2.0 concepts and being scared to have tolerable power and push new horizons in the game so they Nerfed it all into ...

They are horrified of letting classes have open spell access. Every Marine A Rifleman...Every new PF class a Monk or Bard or OP fullcaster master race. Like look at the Mesmerist. Just look at that pile of book keeping and math juggling and resource management and a bazillion fiddly bits and all for...

The new occult book is just, uggh. D8, no full BAB, 4 to 6 skill points a level, gimped quarter and 2/3 casting, fucking hell. It has a bunch of b.s. at every level and a trillion choices to make. Just a big dumpster dive. Of course, they can't even retain fidelity to that sort of E6 but this one go...

The thing that gets me is Magical Items. They couldn't commit themselves to a base level of magical item possession for foes, purchase options and creation guidelines. They were horrified of screwing the pooch on the RNG/Bounded Accuracy concept they married themselves to so they just decided to do ...

Well, the Force did seem to have biological basis. Some intelligent life forms are utterly incapable of Force Use themselves, cannot be detected by the Force and are immune or resistant to the aspects of the Force. Yuuzhan Vong, for instance, in a multi-Galaxy system where planets are said to have h...

what did they expect to happen? You know when you go dumpster diving (for AGES) in pathfinder option sets. How are you supposed to assassinate somebody in the system at comparable level? Let's say, a 5th level rogue sneaks up and stabs another 5th level Rogue. Vintage one shot backstab death potential, right? Well, a rogue who put its favored class bonus into HP starts at 5d8+5. A guy getting walloped ov...
