I found them pretty pointless. Basically, you go through some rolling to get the opportunity to buy new resources at 1/2 the normal price. You then spend these resources to build buildings. There is an elaborate system with hiring teams and managers to do this for you and building rooms to get them ...

I dont get this reasoning. If the GM dont pre-plan encounters (and in a sandbox environment this will be the case most often than not), he will have to resort to 1. randomizing tables or 2. on-the-fly improvising. Except if you guys know some other method that I dont, I cant see how you could escap...

Given the recent grab of the old logo and revival of garbage like Battlesystem, I wouldn't be surprised by "Fuck you, reset." It would ideally push people to buy old splatbooks from dndclassics.com while still doing whatever they want. They can still go as far as they want, J.J. Abrams sty...

The big issues are with the first two books. Book 1 goes through a month or so of being a slave pirate. They masterfully simulate the drudgery by requiring at least a half dozen rolls per person per day to resolve. Work assignments also split the party, and being level 1 it is likely you won't have ...

Ten Small or Medium creatures make up a single stand, as do five Large creatures or two Huge ones... Since both sides scale up equally, Battlesystem simulates a number of combatants on each side of a battle attacking each other over the course of a minute with a single die roll, using the combatant...

Did someone really register on this board with the name Paizil? It was just a little joke. I registered so I could see when new posts were made and don't have much to add beyond Pathfinder stuff, since the people I play with are rarely interested in anything else. I would hope people can look beyon...

Absolutely true. The Prone Shooter incident was Ross Bryers having someone turning his boring +1 feat into a totally useless feat. Similarly, I wouldn't blame Jason Nelson for Jade Regent: The Hungry Storm being unplayable as written. The caravan rules were added by James Jacobs with no testing, and...

My favorite part about Titan Mauler is they specifically get the ability to use a two-handed weapon in one hand, but for some reason it has to be appropriately sized for them. So a class based around using "weapons from their titanic foes" can dual wield greatswords but not large longsword...

Do any of the other scenarios have more substance? Or is it an entire book of barely interactive vignettes strung together by weird for the sake of weird?

The current drama over Courageous weapons on the official forums has been amazing. The enhancement says: A courageous weapon fortifies the wielder's courage and morale in battle. The wielder gains a morale bonus on saving throws against fear equal to the weapon's enhancement bonus. In addition, any ...

Go to his account on the Paizo forums and search for "Everflowing Spring." It is the only post that comes up. The main part is shorter than I remember: Benefits like the Cistern... which adds Stability +1, costs 6 BP, and fills 1 lot (whereas the Everflowing Spring has no stat bonuses, cos...

Since it is new posts by Pathfinder people week... Ultimate Campaign's traits were astoundingly terrible. My favorite is Tireless Avenger, which lowers the DC for a forced march to 10+1/hour instead of +2/hour. But only when tracking a favored enemy. And only when saving against lethal damage. Note:...
