POLYTHEISM!
People, stop trying to shove monotheism down my ancestors' throats. The Greeks (and pretty much everybody in those days) were polytheistic. Who you pray to depends entirely on who you think might help you out in your current circumstances: Lost at Sea? You pray to Poseidon (because he'll throw a tsu...

The Withering/Decisive split seems like it has a lot of potential. Consider the old swashbuckler vs knight problem. In d20 the knight has a major advantage because of higher numbers on his weapons/armor. But under such a system: The swashbuckler builds his [Gauge] by insulting opponents, precision a...

Non-Core Stuff Dude, that's all very well and good but I can't do any of that. Our game only uses PHB1 and PHB2. Maybe PHB3 for the Monk. Hence the title of the thread. Illusion Wizards and Familiars are Arcane Power which is very much out. :nonono: My current plan is to cry and beg for an Orb of F...

So our game died a natural death and it was decided that sufficient fun was had to continue playing 4e. Joy. I'm allowed to keep my crazy stats for a new char so I made a Wizard and a Monk and I was also thinking of a Dwarf Battlerager Fighter until I found out that requires Martial Power. Anyway, t...

If you want poison poured on Pathfinder, I'm game. I can tell you about the 'all feats ever' ninja, or the Knight of the Tome of Copy Spells and Play At Being Cleric Archer. Both of those are quite fun, and should build up my rage a bit. I'm game for some ranting and I always wanted to learn more a...

Just got back from CharGen. The bad news, I was told straight up that Battle Clerics use heavy blades and similar weapons. So no Rapier for me. I got a Bastard Sword since it seemed the least stupid choice available. I may or may not get a shield. The good news, we rolled for stats and I got really ...

Thanks for the info everyone. We start at lvl 1 since half the party are complete newbies. This is also the reason given for not being allowed to even look at any other book than PHB 1 and 2. Seriously, I'm supposed to pick where my character is from without knowing what the available choices are. B...

I am using a copied character sheet from the PHP1 and a pencil. And their opinion on errata is that they are not needed/wanted. I guess that bones us on skill challenges but I also got the impression they nerfed a lot of stuff so... yay? I might get them to approve of errata if it is all that import...

4e Making a Core Cleric
I'm kinda being forced into playing a 4e game and I chose to play a laser cleric. Because, you know, somebody needs to keep the party alive. The other players are mostly unknown but we'll probably have an Archer Ranger and an Orbizard if I have anything to say about it. We play FR, PHB 1 and 2 only ...

So I started writing myself. I focus on drabbles that explore original ideas, mostly power-ups or new ways to solve old problems.

I think you're right, but a horcrux is some pretty major magic, and the instruments on a ship can be pretty damned delicate. I was just speculating, but there's no reason it couldn't be fine. I don't know man. We have no idea how the damn spells works. In d20 terms, if it's Instant and not Permanen...

As far as I remember, the whole magic disrupts technology was specifically about Hogwarts. Too much background magic or something.Prak_Anima wrote:....That's frankly brilliant. Except... and I hate that I bring this up, but the presence of magic would likely have screwed up the fine instruments of the ship...

OK, the good: Nobody Dies is a NGE fic in which Ikaru Yui never died. This produces MASSIVE changes and lots of weirdness. Highlights include a girl's night out for the female staff of NERV while Commander Ikari is playing RPGs with his son, Asuka's dad Pieter Sohryou defeating an Angel-spawn with a...

Shinji and 40k? Oh dear. I've seen Ranma 1/2 crossed with 40k (and with Doom), and Slayers with Eva. All are at least as bad as they sound. Shinji and 40k is weirdly good. I prefer A.R.S.E.N.A.L. and Nobody Dies myself. But X+40k is considered an instant Add Awesome recipe in the fanfic community. ...
