I think one major good innovation for Slay the Spire is that it telegraphs what each enemy will be doing each turn. That makes tactical play fun and relevant with when to play defense cards vs attacking cards etc. depending on what the enemy will do.
It's definitely good and worth playing.

In general, internet-only things like amazon and newegg will have prices that beat out local big box retailers by a fairly large margin. Bestbuy is very bad. I looked at a local Bestbuy and other retailers including their online presence and they were awful prices compared to purely online - even wi...

I personally mostly play MP on games organized via a Dominions discord group. In that settings, the low-astral Magic Weapons bless is very commonly taken and it being so much a part of the meta makes ethereal rather a lot worse. I don't see ethereal as a recommended bless for most MP settings. That ...

I think pythium and, especially, sceleria are winning. So... yeah. Having two of the biggest and strongest players go AI, while everyone else focuses on humans rather than them, has not lead to a good gamestate for the human players. I'm sort of reduced at this point - not playing to win at this poi...

In my experience... there are some tendencies which make some characters much better at some roles than others. Penelo and Ashe have better MP than other people, and so they're better at casting spells, for example. That said, FFXII is not a terribly hard game and if you do the optional sidequests (...

For my part, I must admit that those were some very impressive thunderstrikes that your communion used to kill literally hundreds of units. The Theurgs and Arch Theurgs had 401 kills between them. Too bad, really, about the unending numbers of skeletons. I find it totally hilarious that the 4000 gp ...

I'll take MA C'tis. I'd be happy with all proposed settings. I don't mind one way or the other about Worthy Heroes. I don't have experience with how Cataclysm timers play out in multiplayer so I don't feel strongly about it either. I suggest that we also have # of globals be a function of number of ...

I personally enjoy the various immobiles and pick them disproportionately often. I think on thematic grounds you could justify adding in the Fountain of Blood (656) (inhabits a girl-child, same as the Oracle) and the Statue of the Bloody Mother (2461) (spirit of a goddess). I played some of the prev...

Dom4 rules for blood hunting are: 1. 30% base chance per point of Blood and Dousing bonus. Blood 0 is like 5%. Therefore, Blood 3 is 90% base chance. -Blood hunting is now 40% per level of Blood. You ... seem to be mistaken about Dom 4, as far as I can tell. In dom 4 these are the checks according ...

Not sure I agree with this one wholly: - Subjecting your magical powers to peer-reviewed university research. Have you seen parapsychology 'research'? The credulous have been trying to do 'science' on their purported magical powers for literally decades now, and publishing 'research' that's about as...

The hooded spirit is one trinity pretender; don't know if there are others, haven't looked at everything exhaustively yet. For the hooded spirit: - it has 3 magic paths on the design screen: Water, Earth, Nature - In game, it shows up as 3 different gods, one for each of those magic paths: one god w...

I would be shocked if SomethingAwful didn't convert to Dom5 quicker than other communities, rather than slower. To a first approximation, the main feature that distinguishes the Goons from other Dom5 communities is that they're willing to pay out $10 for something as ephemeral and useless as members...

^I personally see a prompt for you to upgrade your account to enable third party hosting
I recommend just using imgur for hosting images for embedding into posts. You don't even have to make an account.

We will see what happens - I have played nowhere near enough games to have any sort of statistical validity. And a lot of players still have shitty decks, and a lot of players probably don't have full crafted sets of everything they need for an archetype. The 'lot of players' fully includes me - in ...

My Dirt Rune winrate has dropped precipitously, it's now more like 55-45; I think people are now netdecking more effective Sword Neutral lists. I think Earth Rite is still advantaged in the matchup but it doesn't dominate quite that hard any more. I am pretty sure that the staples of the Dirt rune a...

I feel like Orthrus would have been a better nerf target than Death's Breath - DB is a staple of Nep decks who probably don't need a nerf and has some lace in Tyrant / Minthe who also could have eaten a nerf, but Orthrus was added in TotG and is really really strong for both aggro and midrange. I ha...

I agree with that, and also would like to add that a simple and small set of effective spells out of the low-diversity mage is huge. LA Man has a very small path access and their mages are *mostly* functionally identical with their short list of guaranteed paths, but they have Air, Earth, and Astral...
