I use a 3d6 RNG, so personally anything that needs a 5 or more is a given, and a 15 or more is the sort of 'only option left' long-shot.

DnD, I actually don't worry about it. Flat-curve D20 is so damn swingy that I don't consider anything a foregone conclusion any more :D.

Shrapnel is less of an alt, and more like a stream of transformers-based consciousness. Although he does have a point in that they're unlikely to explain the 'science' any further :). I did wonder about the destroyed stones, and therefore the flow of time. Two thoughts: a) That's why it's a multiver...

I agree there was a thing about not depriving the timeline of it's greatest weapon - but the fact of taking the stone was what was declared to be causing the branch, because 'the Infinity Stones create what you experience as the flow of time'. Except in the exact same scene Hulk suggests returning ...

By all means attempt talking, but do so with weapons ready, because that thing sounds ready to attack.

This is a very wordy book :).

Obvious question - what's the light-side ending? And does the author ever openly admit to dry-humping a Lorcan body pillow, or are we just left to assume that ourselves? :D.

Once again, thanks for your time running this tome.

Grief hits everyone differently. And, as people have said, it's not a constant. You'll still smile. probably bittersweet to begin with, but nevertheless smile. Don't feel guilty about that, if you can manage it. I wish you and Gi the absolute best, and hope that you can find happiness together again...

Largely agree - the demon-infested city section was pretty good fun, still think the Smoke Oil bullshit was just that. I guess I'd have hoped for more improvement in the last 2 decades, but... well.. yeah.

Still, fun, and appreciate the time you took to run it :).

Assuming Sweet Spot can't be taken twice, and used on different numbers :D.

Assuming that is correct, half a vote for the Rock-spine coat, because slightly bigger numbers, and DoT boost.

Ring looks nice... but we'd lose either Thorns or Fire Aura/Charm. Given we rely on DoTs - 33% chance each round of 2 damage sounds worse than a flat 1 damage, although it would let us get around the various Fire immune things we find. Half a vote to swap the Fire Aura ring out for the Crucifixion n...

Because for them, the number is a routine bit of information that they're practiced at saying, whereas leaving the rest of the message involves much more thinking and self-second-guessing. Personally, I repeat my number 2-3 times, slowly, because I've worked customer service and remember how annoyin...

Half a vote to go back to the point we had to make a jump, and declined to do so. Which I think is out through the library. Equally, happy to hit the corridor of traps and trust to SKILL.

Agreed on taking the cover. Especially if Bleed stacks :D. Worst case, we have more flexibility on future drops. Bow does look nice... but it can't bite fools. In the face . So I'd also agree with staying Venomancer, but I'd not stop someone who wanted to swap to being a Blood archer - no vote eithe...

I'm sort of assuming it's an in-joke? Seems totally daft, even by this series' standards, otherwise...

Am I missing the joke, or is it as odd and off-kilter as it feels?

Shadowrun 4, D&D 3.x, Homebrew you're happy with.

If you know where the failure points of a given system are, you can patch them to your satisfaction, or just avoid them. No system is perfect, but many are worth playing with a good group.

Chung was a Denner at heart. With a swear filter. He did not take fools lightly, and brooked very little stupidity. He was a goddamn breath of fresh air, and was a joy to read.
