RAW it's really a soul pool anyway, they don't put a volume on a blood point, although they may have in this horrid book I don't have. Hope you don't read the bits on carried diseases, they're even worse medically. I also forgot the rule to pass as human is expend 8 - humanity blood points per day t...

Hard to say. Major city you can probably go back a long way without having to change things from modern society too much. It's when you get outside the few urban centers you're into suspicion if not instant death to outsiders. I wonder if there's a more general Vampire: the * topic to go over this s...

Ah, I thought Cloudkill went up to 10 hd (opening up some bruisers). Blame Bioware for the typo plus lazy coding (defenses listed in spell don't work there).

Crowd-sourcing is fine, just needs to be gone about better. - I don't know how you play DnD. - I don't know what you consider needs fixing (except some unlinked excerpts from the millions of words Frank's written about it). - You couldn't have chosen a worse format. Even people trying to help will m...

I really wouldn't want an assumption that a level 90 fighter still only has the same option as the level 1, get in hugging distance and hit with weapon. That's among the not small pile of things that should go into the fire. There's enough meta-magic crap to keep up with direct damage in the arcane ...

Problematic CRs are already found for you. If it does something crazy like 9th level spells without cost, it's already in the power-gaming summon/call this lists. If it's ridiculously lethal, there's lists for that. There's some can-kill-anything-it-can-hug creatures at the higher CRs that can't dea...

Remember it's the core spells that are the power without limit despite tons of rewritings. Calling, divination, can't touch this all create tons of problems. Certainly want a what to fix list up sooner rather than later. I've always hated the lack of rules depth (play variety) to the amount of rules...

Because lots of them are bad and come down to luck of the random elements. I'd be happy to discuss, but haven't played a huge number. For the two games we played, I think there's interesting stuff in the Walking Dead Board game I played for example. Hear good things about Firefly, but never played i...

It never comes up. You rip their face off while they stand around for a turn or two, like every other horrible body weapon or transformation that doesn't last all day.

Does Victorian drop the one blood point to wake up expenditure in 3rd (don't know revised or 20th)?

So Temporis breaks the action economy worse than it was already? (Celerity or DIAF) You do need to be careful if reading the whitewolf wikia page for example: reading there dom 10 is the same thing as dom 5, but in the book dom 5 has tons of restrictions (granted 10 probably does too, game is pretty...

That's way better than the clan book's answer (god vamp fluff sucks): Cain made the 2nd gen then directed them to sire the clan leaders (name = clan). Ventrue was the first and was an advisor to Cain and the bestest buddy to him and so on. But there's probably a dozen incompatible answers across var...

At least we know all the Vamp Diaries mains would be npcs after 2 minutes of screen-time (their run of the mill newly-turned vamp would probably wreck an VtM elder anyway...haven't seen True Blood, but probably true there too). Character fragility is probably the bigger fail of the system for me. Bl...

Oh right, there's that thing we ignored, the thing we rewrote, the other thing we kinda used as written. Nostalgia has been ending in pain a lot lately, here :) Good thing we didn't do much with the humanity table, I'd have been an NPC after our second encounter. (Can't break the Masquerade so kinda...

For my clarification: aside from the mandatory blood orgies, wasn't Sabbat >>> Camarilla? The discipline sets seemed to mesh so much better (i.e. Gangrel) when they weren't the same (like Malk, Tor) and you didn't have to deal with the omg masquerade rules. Might be too much CCG influence to my thin...

Isn't the answer any game system? Probably see poorer results in something like DnD, granted. You'd have to forget a lot of skills and spells exist there, it's too easy to get perfect information by the rules. It's certainly a lot of work to gm, it's a godawful amount of information to track once th...

Not being familiar with 4th ed, I still don't see Conan archetype working well. Don't bring a low/no magic character to a high magic game.

Yay * the dark chaos + a stupid reading of the interaction with heroism, so spellcasters can have all the feats. Granted they've already got something better (the spellcasting) and might care if there's spellcasting feats they don't have yet. Otherwise it takes an awful lot of book-diving to find fe...

C'mon devils. Iirc devils v demon of similar cr is curbstomp by the devils combat-wise but they tend to not have the social skills (diplo, sense motive, etc) so that it would matter.

Oh, demons weigh like 10x as much too. Do not ask why.

They always vary, it's whatever the HR troll you land is looking for. Try company work philosophy webstuff especially stuff that's repeated a lot, section headers or figure annotations (probably in reverse order since HR trolls are lazy). Do not do real work for free. Do not fling feces. Do not auth...

angelfromanotherpin tends to bring up the points I would, but I might have some idears that aren't me-too right now. US comic books might be an interesting analogy as the numbers might be similar. I.e. tons of titles with today's top ten/twenty circulation were dropped for low sales in the 90s. Of c...

If you're using RAW, you should be a much better god than that before epic. There's a couple high level psionic powers that are poorly enough written to do that, just shapechange into things that have them as abilities (fusion and reformation) and then write NI on every number on your character shee...

I think if the thread can carry another 10 pages of hyperbolic bullshit we should consider it not desirable to have a social system that can stop combat once it's started. From last page, definitely not a good idea to take the amount of options the average RP video game presents as any sort of indic...

At least in 3.x zealot or fanatic or whatever (epic skill use, +25 or 50 dc) is mind-affecting and has a few outs, i.e. it doesn't work on anything you need it to work on and isn't much better than friendly or helpful anyway...and probably much worse since there's no rules way to get out of being fr...

In 3e it was a copy paste (see Frank's fail article on diplo or skill checks) added to a pretty useless skill (a skill check for negotiation and so on--but things you'd want to use it for already had their own skills like appraise, various knowledges and such) that pretty much reads you run the worl...
