Eclipse Phase 2nd Edition
Wasn't sure where else to put this, but Posthuman Studios announced a new edition of Eclipse Phase a bit over a week ago. http://eclipsephase.com/eclipse-phase-second-edition-be-released-2017 Some of the biggest rule changes mentioned that look like improvements are a condensed skill list and Morph ...

Now that I've had some time to think them over, here's some thoughts I had on the game and how they could have fixed some of the issues 1. Complexity of Combat : Brought up by Chamomile, I think the game could have benefited from making different rules for combat for the games that focused on larger...

I own all the Rogue Trader books as I love the fluff. The rules leave something to be desired. People have already spoke to the skill list, wounds, skill system... In RT in particular the ship combat system is commonly house ruled to make more sense. If you go over to Fantasy Flight's forums you ca...

You would love to play the Technocracy instead. Technocracy: the Enlightenment is the best oWoD game . It has a setup for why the party exists and what the party does. It has organization goals to serve as hooks for the party to pursue. It utilizes well established themes and tropes that anyone who...

Okay, thanks for the clarification, that would be a lot simpler than roll under. Which raises the question why roll under is even used in games like Eclipse Phase and these. Far as the fluff argument goes and the coin-flipping, I prefer the stories of weaker grunts taking out more powerful opponents...

Trying to learn Mage the Awakening is what made me decide to never try White Wolf at all. I spent around a week reading the main rulebook, and at the end of it all, was still confused over the mechanics and how there was a meaningful conflict or what the Mage was really supposed to do. It probably w...

Thanks for giving me a more in-depth explanation, most of these are definitely problems I've seen and had to house rule for the games I've run. I do like the wound system myself , but it definitely has had problems with mass combat and keeping characters alive. Although I have to ask, what makes rol...

Warhammer 40k RPGs, what's wrong with them?
I've spent several months lurking here, and finally decided to bite the bullet and ask about a system of games I've been playing a few years which I've seen referred to as garbage in different threads that I've read through. I've been unable to find one detailing why these games are bad though, so I...

If by stuff, you mean a bunch nobodies die. Mostly Guilliman is awoken, moved to the other side of the Galaxy, has a private talk with dad, cypher is imprisoned (rather than executed or taken away) in the imperial palace (cue dramatic escape that happens...elsewhere) and the audience is not allowed...

Well, a lot of the problems with the warlock spell selection is warlocks get a smaller, shittier spell list. But you can cherry pick it enough for buffs, and just run around as sword guy with a pile of always on (or at will) powers and a small stock of buff spells. Plus laser machine gun bullets fo...

5e doesn't allow for many character decisions though, especially when compared to the constant dumpster diving that characterizes pathfinder. You choose race and class, at 1st, specialization and 2nd or 3rd, then feat or ability score increase at 4 or 5 points across 20 levels. There are a couple o...

New person here
Hello. Found my way here trying to search for criticism of Paizo a little more harsh then on their message boards. I found this which was a little more than I thought existed. I'm mostly a PbP player versus real life due to lack of group.
