Re: The Bright Blade (fey-flavored champion class)
Good point regarding the magic weapon/sneak attack comparison. I'm working on an alternate idea.[br][br][br] Your class should probably ditch the animal companion entirely, because I don't actually see what it is for. [br][br]It's there to represent the "Wild Hunt" aspect of the warrior fe...

Re: The Bright Blade (fey-flavored champion class)
Thanks for the criticism, guys...version 1.7 is currently up at the WotC boards, and I'm working on version 1.8. I'm incorporating a (Su) quasi-spellcasting mechanic (thank you, Sig!), and am currently working with 6 spell levels. The idea is that the BB can cast "spells" of his highest le...

Re: Nerf the Druid!
1199133226[/unixtime]]Aside from the animal companion, however, its still very good. shifting is a free action, and you're still a full spellcaster. So you can buff or flip between front line and fire support at will. Do it right, and you still make melee classes cry.[br][br]If you sit down and wor...

IIRC, the word "tiefling" is actually German.

Re: Nerf the Druid!
The shapeshifter variant in PHB2 is quite good. You can shapeshift at level 1...as a swift action...an unlimited number of times,[br][br]BUT...[br][br]You CANNOT cast spells while shapeshifted.[br]You lose your mind-controlled tank...I mean, "Animal Companion"[br]You're limited to a few sp...

Re: Tiefling vs Gnome
Ouch. That was painful.[br]And this is someone who likes tieflings and has no interest in gnomes.[br]Go, WotC! Way to alienate your fan base and introduce new stereotypes![br][br](BTW, in any game I've been in, a PC who looks like that tefling would have a mob of irate villagers chasing her with tor...

Re: The Bright Blade (fey-flavored champion class)
Okay, here we go...[br][br]@ FrankTrollman: Excellent points, and believe me, I am considering them. Let me go over your post point-by-point.[br][br] Fey-Flavored: What you say brings up what I feel is a large misconception about the fey. The average D&D gamer thinks "fey" = "magi...

The Bright Blade (now version 1.9)
Here we go with version 1.9[br][br]Many thanks to Sigma999 and Frank Trollman for their useful advice. I didn't incorporate everything, but I did consider everything.[br][br] "Do not frown, mortal. Laugh! Laugh, for the dance of steel, for the music of the blades, and for the beauty of bright b...

Re: More Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
1198595261[/unixtime]]Talisman: as said, it looks like the Feybook version hasn't gotten any significant change since my suggestions; I ask that you keep it like it was before you posted it at WotC so that TGD folks interested take a look at it as it was, because the opinion on the WotC version's ....

Re: More Threads that make us Laugh, Cry, or Both
Hey guys, Talisman here...creator of the bright blade.[br][br]Just to explain, I made this class to be a fey-flavored alternative to the paladin. It's been through several incarnations, and I posted it at WotC to get more feedback.[br][br]Interestingly, Bigode's take was "this is weak!," w...

Re: Explosions
Book of Exalted Deeds has a feat called Purify Spell that lets you keep a spell from affecting Good creatures, at a cost of +1 spell level. Maybe an evil version of that? Would let you trigger fireballs and what-not right at your feet.

Re: True Fey
Hey Sig! Awesome stuff...I haven't had a chance to review the whole thing, but I will soon, and will leave more useful feedback.[br][br]One thing I did note in passing: True Fey tend to prefer Transmutation, Enchantment, Transportation (but not Summoning), Curative, and Shapeshifting magic, but thes...
