Fire Emblem's strength lies not in its system, which is very simplistic, but its characters, who rightly get the focus on them and not the simple system that enables this. It doesn't seem appropriate for a tabletop RPG for this reason.

To be fair, Cloud 9 was playing with a sub for their mid laner. With that in mind, they did pretty well.

DotA 2 is perhaps the least user friendly game I have ever played on the PC. The interface shows a truly astounding degree of awfulness, and any and all attempts to fix it are shouted down by endless grognards because it's "making the game easier" or "not like the original dota" ...

French crowd is best crowd. I think a lot of it has to do with the French casters, who are awesome. It was like this at the last French live tournament too which was like...two years ago.

It's one of the reasons some companies are returning to a "delete after X time" policy rather than tape backup. Unfortunate, because there's a real cost to the employees there.

I've been hearing about microfluidics ever since I entered graduate school five years ago. I've since left, and they're still vaporware. That's wrong. Microfluidics has actually done things in the last five years. Nothing news-worthy, but plenty of cool and useful stuff. And considering the average...

I don't really think the fact that a 3D printer that can print itself is that interesting. Great, you made an academic point about bootstrapping, big fucking deal. Not really worth the sacrifices you needed to make for it. I've been hearing about microfluidics ever since I entered graduate school fi...

I suppose you're correct that it's the materials that matter and not the DC, which should be fine then.
My intent was that you would rarely see people taking the feats for it
The feats should probably be better then, yeah?

I'm not sure that putting DCs for magic items is appropriate given how cheesable those numbers are. I'm actually okay with cheesable craft DCs since it makes the game fun, but it just means the magic items ought to be divorced from the skill.

This thinking is not unusual. A little over a mere century ago most of the stuff that we have now would look exactly like that.

I feel like the optimal Ryze combo needs some math, because I doubt that one is optimal. E first might be a better choice because of the MR shred.

Top lane Ryze -- best starting item? I was actually thinking of trying a Doran's Blade start, what with that ranged autoattack and all.

For the Wand of Force, maybe the damage should just be removed entirely. There's plenty of stuff that could be done with [Force] effects -- telekinetic combat maneuvers and whatnot come to mind.

The power level seems okay to me. I don't think tags are needed on any of these.

Liandry's could really stand to be a lot better...it's kind of an awkward item right now, and I think that's shown by the fact that so few build it in pro matches. Given that the % health damage scales with the enemy's health rather than your own AP, it makes sense that you'd want to build it on a t...

Wand of Inferno: Says "Con save". Also that's potentially two saves for a lot of people, maybe better off collapsing both into one save? Wand of Force level 7 seems strictly worse than Wand of Missiles level 5, despite being thematically similar. Wand of Curses level 7 seems kind of crap. ...

So, I'm pretty sure I reached Elo heaven. What range is Elo heaven, you might wonder? It's where I currently sit in my normal MMR, which is roughly between Silver I - Gold III (those are the most common opponents I see; can get plats occasionally but almost never anyone below Silver I anymore). I think what it is is that even though I lose my lane a lot more than I used to, I'll never, ever die 1v1. Like, I've grown past the point where dying 1v1 is even a remote possibility (at least against my current-MMR opponents).
