I really don't mind some x/day balance... If a creature needs to sleep normally, and the ability comes from their needing to rest, sure. Magical creature with this I'm totally okay with. Sorcerors... Sure, why not?[br][br]But most abilities make no sense that way and there's no penalty to the fighte...

Frank has a great point...[br][br]...But alot of those races have no need for various technologies, and therefore don't support them. Other races trade the food production of their race for the technology production of another. And many of the flavours are 'protected' because they only breed one way...

K, you've seen far more bull-rushes than two![br][br]That's the main mode for open melee combat that my character in Frank's current game uses: Jump into the guy's square, hope he falls down, and chew him to pieces.[br][br]I really should get spring attack to help with the not being chewed back, but...

I would say that objects attached to other objects would fail to Shrink per the spell because:[br][br][ol][*]The shrinking spell gives no wording on how the item would become unattached.[br][*]The item shrinking has no STR, and therefore is contrained by the object it is attached to. Spells are spells, with various effects.
...They aren't the base rules.
Either way, whoever thought that one up needs to be taken out and shot. And by that I mean not longer allowed to make game material involving any sort of math.

Frank, stop using real-world numbers in a game.
Size differences give you plus X to bullrushes, and times Y to carrying capacity.
Why do we need to change this? Horses still carry people, Ogres still bullrush people... What needs changing? And why?

Frank, this isn't GURPS.[br][br]Strength as a stat is always relative to your size - so a 0 means you're paralyzed, and a high number means you're strong. Since carrying capacity doubles with size category and type of motion, it shows how the stat already varies relative to the world without varying...

Frank: I think the guest means that a class-level 10 party take a lesser hit by adding a character with an LA than a class-level 3 party.
